Praise of Mark A. Hollingsworth's writing culled from thousands of comments on his blog...
The story is not only heart-breaking and sobering... but it is one of the most superb, vivid pieces of writing I have ever read, written with so much honesty and passion. It's like I was there, seeing what you saw... feeling what you felt. It took my breath away. That piece needs to be read by everyone... at least by every American. You should write a book. And you should definitely be on Oprah. I'm going to forward that article to her producers.
If the mark of good writing is that people identify with it, then this is a masterpiece. A thousand "Amens!"
I was so moved by your story. I just wanted to say thank you for sharing it. I made the mistake of reading it at work. First, I couldn't stop crying, and then I couldn't (and still can't) stop thinking about it. But I don't want to stop thinking about it. You told the story so eloquently and so painfully.
