I've been wearing corsets for years- and usually I get custom made, quite expensive ones made to fit my body. However, I also go to a lot of costume events and I wanted to add a few new looks to my collection without spending the average $300 and up each for my new corsets. I bought this corset- an emerald green velvet piece with some lovely embroidery sequined work on the front. I did not expect much from a $119 corset, readymade, sold at Amazon. But I got my corset, was surprised by how sturdy it is! I am a plus sized woman with a lot to hold in and this overbust works like a charm. I wore it to a huge costume festival and was complimented dozens of times, even my a professional corset maker! Now, this corset is not going to give you the super-hourglass shape that a high end custom made one will, but with proper lacing, you can get close, and for the price, this is honestly the best corset-buy out there. I plan to purchase a black one from the same company. Highly recommended, even from a corset snob.

I bought this corset, the emerald green velvet is of a beautiful shade, the embroidery, sequined work on the front is very well made. I got the corset, and was well surprised by how nice it is, but HOW SMALL!!! The corset 42 size tag doesn't match at all with the 42 European measurements, as well as with the 40" waist option given by the seller. I am a classical 42 size in Europe. Now, the size tag 42 of this corset is an European 38-40 petite, or USA 8-10 size!!! Now, I tried to pull me in... well... with an open lacing on the back of almost 6" (15 cm)...!! This corset is never going to give me any chance of an hourglass shape either, the high end of a real 42 size would be a bit more generous. And for the price, well, honestly speaking, it is saddening. The trouble of sending back the corset from Europe to USA is a bit too much of a hassle.
I plan to purchase another one from the same company, just to check if an European 44 or 46 size satisfies normal sizing hopes... it means that shall I purchase 45-46" waist when the reality my waist is 35"??? Not even my chest has 45"diameter, but 40"!!!
