Same as the other person that wrote a review. I had bought this tape about eight ago and it was incredible. Unfortunetly, it broke and I have been trying to find its replacement ever since. I am thrilled to finally find it. This CD is relaxing but not depressing. Most Irish/Celtic music is either depressing that you'll cry listening to it or is to upbeat and somewhat harsh to the ears. Emerald Castles is all instrumental with Guitars, Harpsichord, Recorder, Oboe and Percussion.

I got this CD several years ago and it one of my favorites. It's upbeat but relaxing music helps keep me going when I'm working on a large project around the house or just relaxing. My copy is in fact getting damaged thanks to my kids (teens) playing it also so I'm glad to be able to find another copy. Great gift for someone who likes a steady beat or theme to their music (ie: pop or disco). Great clasical dancing music also!!

Seriously, owning this CD is like owning the Holy Grail of Celtic Guitar. My parents originally bought this CD for me. I was immediately hooked. It was like a religious experience and I listened to it every day for like a year. Then it was stolen when some punks broke into the car. I missed that CD more than anything. What was worse is that I still had the case. I finally found it on Amazon and bought another copy. I'm so thrilled to have it again. This is great! It's like listening to a Celtic Bard playing for you in a stone castle. It's very dynamic and traditional sounding. It has upbeat jig style tracks and sorrowful breathy tracks. This CD is MUST have for Celtic fanatics. You will not be disappointed. I'm going to go listen to my copy right now.

I puchased this album about eight years ago under the title "Emerald Castle" from "Sundown Records" I fell utterly in love with this music. I later lost the tape, but still had the case with the address of the record company. I wrote them, but the letter was returned: apparently they had gone out of business. I was distraught. I could still hear that music in my head all the time and I was dying to hear it again. I've been searching online for about two years now and finally I've found it- the same album from a new record company.

Folks this is THE GOOD STUFF. This is the most hauntingly beautiful Celtic music I have ever heard. This is an album you can buy with confidence. Happy listening!

This CD is one of my treasures. I bought the cassette back in the early 90s while on a trip. I needed something to listen to and the artwork combined with the name made me take a chance. I've listened to this as I've gone on long bicycle trips, the cadence seemed perfect for biking. This is the only musical review I've ever written on Amazon (or any other site for that matter.) A very special CD that has become one of my all time favorite.

I bought this album about 10 years ago and misplaced it- I enjoyed the music so much I bought another copy. As soon as the music starts playing I am taken to a place of Castles, faires, friendly dragons and feilds full of sunshine and moonshine.

This is a great CD. I bought it about 5 years ago and my wife and I still listen to it regularly when we want to wind down and relax at the end of a long day. It has beautiful melodies that stay in your head and speak of a peaceful, quieter world than our own. Can't recommend this enough.
