5.0 out of 5 stars Dynamite Celtic music with a modern flair all its own, June 8, 1999

Emerald Rose is a delightful mix of the old and new...from the upbeat, rabble-rousing sound of "Never Underestimate..." to the very haunting "Pict Song". Perhaps the most moving song on this CD is Hinds' "Bring Me Home", describing the longing for a land never seen. It brings tears to my eyes every time! The only flaw in the CD is that the listener is left wanting to hear even more!! A definate 5 Star!!!

This is a wonderful CD and a wonderful band. I met the band at the 1999 Atlanta Celtic Festival when I introduced them. They are a wonderful group of people and I highly reccommend their CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Celto-Pagan music!, April 12, 2001

Emerald Rose has put together a thoroughly enjoyable CD including jubilant, rollicking songs, such as Maggie Lauder, Donald MacGillivray, Scatter the Mud/Tar Road to Sligo/Paddy Clancy's, and Padstow; but the band does not neglect to sing the reflective, soulful songs such as Dagger of the Moon, A Pict Song, Bring Me Home, and a personal favorite, The World's Wedding/One Single Kiss. They blend traditional tunes with a modern feel to produce a truly delightful sound. Not only that, but I've met the band, and they are genuinely great guys!

5.0 out of 5 stars ~*~Fantastic Musical Superiority~*~, April 16, 2000

This review is from: Emerald Rose (Audio CD)
I was started out simply looking for lore of scottish and irish natures but then I came upon Emerald Rose and I was hooked. I have always enjoyed listening to a variety of musical types and this grabbed me very well. A mixture of fantastic vocals to beautiful playing of instruments (Might I add that the pennywhistle playing is the best i've ever heard? ) This is a definate Band that I would suggest to anyone searching for music that is easy to listen to and understandable not to mention pleasing to all senses. ~Sincerely, Victoria Huey

I really enjoy this CD. Their original songs are great and their renditions of traditional songs are nice too. The song, Never Underestimate... is one of my favorites!

I highly recommend Emerald Rose to anyone who enjoys Celtic music or modern folk. These guys are a blast. Their renditions of traditional tunes are fine, but their own compositions are even better. Don't miss "Summerland."
