A very well-written book that traces Domenici's rise to Chairman of the Senate Budget Committee. Wonderful insights into campaign strategies as well.

This is a rare book that could give the average American an idea of what happens in Congress during the budget deliberations. Although procedures may have changed, knowing how they used to be should give us insight into how things go now and in the future. It does make one wonder who is the strongest player in these times, while giving the reader an idea of whom to watch and listen to.
Given recent events, this is a book that can help average citizens understand what is happening and why, giving it an importance beyond the historical.
