great book to have
a book every EMT should have and not just when recieving training. I still frequently look through it. Hard cover edition is amazing

Want to be a certified EMT-Basic? This is the book you will have to eat through. The chapters are very long and WORDY. Important information is scattered between needless sentences such that, yes, you will have to read everything. The text in this book could very easily be condensed to a quarter of it's current size. Want to be a certified EMT-Basic? This is the book you will have to eat through.The chapters are very long and WORDY. Important information is scattered between needless sentences such that, yes, you will have to read everything. The text in this book could very easily be condensed to a quarter of it's current size. There is more information in a paragraph from my pChem text book than from two pages of this. Also, the protocols could be better organized.

This book is extremely helpful when used correcrtly. Don't cheat. The answers are in the back but please resist. This book is probably the best review for your class or exam or what ever it may be. A must buy if taking EMT course.

Comprehensive and in depth coverage of Basic EMT instruction. I am instructed at a public safety training facility in New York and these texts are the core of our curricula. The "You are the provider" and EMT-B Tips insets and bold print volcabulary in each chapter tie you to real life scenario vinettes; a great tool to help take the covered material in each section of text "to the street".

Emergency Care and Transportation of the Sick and Injured is a great text. The picture on this Amazon ad was of the text I wanted and the reviews were too. The trouble is that I was sent the workbook instead of the text I thought I ordered. Looking more closely at the ad, I see that way down the page it is described as "workbook edition". This ad is very misleading!
