A standard for quick reference. We issue this to all our advanced care EMTs and Paramedics. Though a little cumbersome it has it's use in the field, it's great for class, post run, and coffee time discussions. Likely the best we have found. It is up-dated when needed, without unnecessary edtions.

I really enjoy this little guide when I am in clinical! It has come in handy several times as a nursing student, I can't wait to use it when I am done with school as well!! Great buy!

Great to keep in your pack at work or pocket when working with critically ill pts. Durable. Learned of it when another RN had it during a near code. Very helpful when you need info fast.

My preceptor in ER recommended this. She has been working in the ER for 7 years and still carries it in her bag. Her father who worked in the same ER for 30 years gave it to her. It has a massive amount of information with useful tabs. Includes common meds and issues to watch for, info on assessments and terminology etc... LOVE IT!!

A must buy for the new ER nurse. I have used this book at least once a day on the job. I love the quick review drug guide when you can't remember the other name for the drug. It fits in my pocket easily. I even have other nurses that have borrowed it from me to look up stuff. It has a great protectant on it to avoid ruining the pages. The best book I have bought for ER nurses.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't leave home without it, June 20, 2010

I've been carrying one of these with me for years, and try to get a new one each time it's updated- it really is that good. Color coded flip guide that can refresh you on almost anything and everything with easy to read, simple to understand language so when you're sitting there at 0300 scratching your head- you have quick answers instead of a little more "Huh?". The newer guide is a little bit thicker than previous versions and I have to admit it doesn't fit in the back pocket like it used to. Really like the expanded toxins section.

All those things you learned in school, but haven't used since then can be found here. Essential info related to peds, meds, ACLS, basic cardiac rhythm characteristics and breakdown of affected area of the heart. Too many topics to list, but a great pocket sized resource to at least have available. Convenient, organized tabs to help find information rapidly.
