5.0 out of 5 stars It works!
Okay - we haven't had a chance to try this outdoors in the cold yet... but we did try the body bag in a cold room and in a matter of minutes, the bag heated up while reflecting our body heat, even in light clothing. We plan to keep these in each vehicle during the winter as well as in 'survival' backpacks.

2.0 out of 5 stars Deceptive
The ad leads one to believe that these units are matched to work together, or at least is sold as a combination unit that works together.

That is NOT the case,it is simply a sealed end space blanket (large) and a hand warmer (large).

Having used it to be sure I.........found the following to be true.

What you get is a foil blanket...

That is NOT the case,it is simply a sealed end space blanket (large) and a hand warmer (large).

Having used it to be sure I.........found the following to be true.

What you get is a foil blanket that gets very wet (from normal body h20 loss) when used with or without the hand warmer that is inadequate in its thermal output.

Buyer beware.

I suppose in a TRUE EMERGENCY (not as is said in just about everything today)but a true emergency it may keep you from freezing to death for a short period of time, but I would not recommend it.

I am a member of a group dedicated to explore the jungle and the practice of survival in mountainous areas.
A few days ago during the rainy season in CR we went to set a camp in a very windy and cold place on the base of a rain forest, so we decided to test the warmers during our sleep time, we were inside tents and some guys in hammocks with covers, most of us were wearing field jackets and regular military pants, gloves and wool hats, the warmers are easy to active and after a few minutes you feel the heat....once we get used to the amount of heat we placed the warmers near the chest, arms or even the legs and they provided a nice heat to fight back the cold wind and the low temperatures... we had not complains about way they work and lasted for a very long time ... actually after a few hours I was sleeping without suffering from the cold.
The survival bags are simple, like a emergency blanket sealed in one end...there is no more to say about them because you have to be completly dry to use them otherwise it is dangerous, what we did was using them to "protect and cover" most of the body from the cold wind ,but not the head or arms, that way you do not overheat and keep yourself warm and dry....now we know for sure that they are a good add for any survival kit.
Its packaging is very reliable, waterproof, easy to carry, lightweight and easy to use. (The warmers)
I hope they work just fine when I use it in the future again.
So this is must in your survival kit.
