For such a short book, this is surprisingly full of imformation. One of the best emergency medicine books I have ever seen. I would consider this a must have for any practicing EM specialist. This book covers a majority of the very high risk cases that we see. The best part is continual coverage of hazards in over reliance on so called "classic symptoms." Just the other day, I had a neurologist ask me why a did a CT angio of a guys chest to rule out dissection because clearly the patient did not have a Horner's syndrome on exam which he states is seen in "almost all" cases: I think I should order him a copy of this book.:)My group is going to order multiple copies to have for students and mid-levels as well.

Great book for the EM beginner who isn't familiar with the REAL presentations (as opposed to the text-book presentation) of many life-threatening conditions. As a senior medical student interested in EM, I am not an expert in the field, but I learned a lot from this relatively small book. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in emergency medicine.
