5.0 out of 5 stars Improve your critical thinking, August 14, 2009
This review is from: Emergency Medicine Decision Making: Critical Issues in Chaotic Environments: Critical Choices in Chaotic Environments (Paperback)
This book is an excellent primer on how physicians (should) think. Rapidly integrating data from many sources, combining clinical judgment with evidence, and utilizing medical literature to the fullest are all covered.

Medical students and residents will find this book invaluable as they learn to incorporate evidence-based medicine into their practice. Experienced clinicians will appreciate the insights into their established heuristics, and techniques for optimizing their use of data.

This book impacted the way I approach patient care and data integration. It was a fun read; I found myself using the concepts in my daily practice.

This review is from: Emergency Medicine Decision Making: Critical Issues in Chaotic Environments: Critical Choices in Chaotic Environments (Paperback)
As we progress in the future of medical decision making and treatment, it is important for us to use the growing body of medical literature to make the most appropriate decisions for our patients.

This book does a wonderful job of explaining why this is important, and how to use this approach. It has something from all levels, from medical students, residents, faculty, scientific researchers, or anyone who is just curious about the process of thinking.

I read it during my emergency medicine residency, and I am a better doctor for it.
