Great Tool for a ER rotation,
By
This review is from: Emergency Medicine Manual (Paperback)
So far, the Emergency Medicine Manual has been a great asset to have while doing my ER rotation. It fits conveniently into my coat pocket and after seeing a patient, I can quickly read up on whatever I suspect is main diagnosis, and therefore appear smart when I am being pimped by a resident or an attending. I would recommend it to anyone considering doing ER.

I am a Emergency Room Physician Assistant and I find that I use this book almost every day for reference. It has been well worth the money.Altho it is one of the less expensive texts I have run across. It is small and easy to carry around.Make sure to put your name on it or it will definitely grow legs and be adopted by someone else.

Handy book,

I purchased this book to back me up in my clinical year instead of carrying the big and great Tintinalli's "Emergency Med." I think this little version does a good job in giving a concise information on emergency medicine.

Handy book for quick reference,

This a handy book for a quick review, but is not very indepth. I have used it a good bit in the ED, but still rely on other references as well. The book is well written, size is good and has a few illustrations.

Excellent quick reference for EM Clerkship,
By
This review is from: Emergency Medicine Manual (Paperback)
As a fourth year medical student, I carried this handy guide around with me during my EM clerkships. I found it to be extremely valuable as a quick reference before seeing a patient and as well as afterwards when I came up with my differential diagnosis and plan. The book seems to carry just the right amount of information. It contains enough to cover everything for reading during your downtime, but it's concise enough to quickly answer your diagnosis or treatment quiestions. More than once, I've been able to greatly improve my understanding of my patient before I presented to the attending MD. I even caught my fellow students and the first-year residents stealing my book for their own patients while I was seeing someone else! All in all, I highly recommend this to any resident or student on their EM rotation.

Good for rounds,

Great resource to have when making rounds. Didn't seem as indepth as I would like it to be in some places. Good refresher kind of book, with other resources handy for more indepth information.

I bought this book for my M.D. brother. He said it's one of the most useful books he's ever had. Eventhough he already have the iphone, he still uses this book because it is handy, fits right in his scrubs, and he can always find what he's looking for.

I'm an er doc. I do not work a shift without this at my computer. It gets right to the point and doesn't beat around the bush and so works well for the ed.
