These bags do work, they hold in body heat in an emergency but...
I tryed to use them as a cheap alternative to camping out on a short notice as I am a Civil War Re-inactor (and camping on short notice happens often). I simply got tired of freezing and being cussed at for throwing all the wood on the fire at 3am because I couldnt sleep due to the shivers. I only used this bag 1 time. I was fine till 3am and awoke with the chills, I slept in my clothes while in the bag and it held in my body heat and my Moisture, which caused me to be damp from the waist up, which gave me a bad case of the "shivers". Besides the noise from the "crinkle" sound the mylar makes it did function as stated, I just dont reccomend using like I did. Would make a good 'vapor barrier' for an under layment for bedding maybe. Great if you got trapped in your car in the winter too, as in an Emergency. Will toss the rest of them in the car's for future use.

Hope I never have to use it, but here in Minnesota, planning for cold/wet weather is second nature. I keep a couple in the car, too.
