The Pet Emergency Pocket Guide was designed to be the most comprehensive, current, and convenient resource available. Review

A must-have reference for pet owners that offers quick access to care and first-aid procedures.
--The View

Handy to have around (and to carry around), this book offers quick access to information pet owners often need on the spur of the moment.
--South Bay Pets

No one who lives with dogs and cats should be without this terrific resource. I only wished I'd had this years ago as a resource for decisions about my companion animals. The First Aid section is priceless. The glossary is a pet owner's education course. Finally, as the host of the 'Road To Ready' radio show, I always stress planning ahead for evacuation in time of disasters. The evacuation guidance in this pocket guide from Informed Publishing is second to none. This guide should be in every home Go-Kit.

This guide prepared me to understand and respond immediately when my boxer accidentally ingested anti freeze. Our vet was able to treat her and save her life, but he said that the speed of the owner's reaction makes all the difference in cases like this. All the information is useful and the format allowed me to find exactly what i was looking for in an emergency.

good basic review for owners December 17, 2009
I just had an owner bring in her terrier after it ate a huge amount of bakers chocolate, and she followed the guide of this book and made the dog vomit and rushed him in. She probably saved the dogs life, or at the very least reduced his cost to treat and recovery time by using this book. I thought I would throw that out there for potential buyers. I have never read it, but the information it gave her was very accurate and she was a well informed client.

I got this because there had been so many times I had wondered about certain symptoms in my dog I wanted to get a sense of what to worry about, what to pay attention to. Like when he practically eats a tupperware plastic top, is that not good?? I have a cat, she takes care of herself, but there's a lot to learn here, maybe too much. Paranoids like me can overdo every thought about everything... I can't imagine performing cpr on my pets, but if I had to, well now I know how, in theory... It's well written, to the point, worth having on the shelf.
