5.0 out of 5 stars Great small-sized survival kit guide
"Emergency Survival: A Pocket Guide" has become the gold standard for small-sized survival kits. About 45 pages are devoted to getting the job done and coming out of the wilderness alive. The inclusion of basic first aid trauma information is a bonus. The only improvements I would make would be to print on water-proofed paper and include a few basic knots for fishing and...

Poorly put together. This is more of a pamphlet than a book. It seems like something that would be handed out for free. I am disappointed that I paid for it. Its basically just pieces of paper stapled in the middle and folded over. It is very similar to an instruction booklet that comes when you buy any type of item that needs assembly. "Emergency Survival: A Pocket Guide" has become the gold standard for small-sized survival kits. About 45 pages are devoted to getting the job done and coming out of the wilderness alive. The inclusion of basic first aid trauma information is a bonus. The only improvements I would make would be to print on water-proofed paper and include a few basic knots for fishing and shelter building. Everyone who treks into the wilderness should carry a small survival kit that they have assembled and understand, including this guide (with some kind of paper sealer sprayed on the pages to guard against water damage). Better would be to study a large survival guide (US Army, SAS, ect.) and use this small booklet as a reminder of what you already know. Build a shelter and make a fire in your own backyard before you have to do it cold, hurt and scared in the wild. Preparation, in anything, makes all the difference.

Its basically just pieces of paper stapled in the middle and folded over. It is very similar to an instruction booklet that comes when you buy any type of item that needs assembly. Don't expect to get a typical book with a binding and cover, because that is not the case with this item.
