The Psalms are the churches ancient song book containing every emotion and experience known to man and relating them to God. Why is it that they have largely disappeared from our churches? This book can help to recapture the Psalms as a transformative sung prayer book. Isaac Everett has done a fabulous job capturing the sentiments encapsulated in each psalm with his antiphon - and done it in a creative, accessible way. This book would be a great addition to any churches service (Liturgical or not!)

Isaac Everett's Emergent Psalter is fascinating. This was his Master's Thesis and is incredibly well-documented. The music is very simple and flexible. The tunes are lovely and easy to learn. It is a practical guide to psalm-singing if you are from a congregation that doesn't sing them. They can be sung with voices only, with guitar, keyboard, or any number of ways. Also, they are designed to be easy so that folks don't have to hold a piece of paper in front of them. If you are always looking for fresh ways to enhance your worship, this is a 'Must-buy.'
