About the Author

Marie Umeh specializes in Literature of the African World at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, CUNY. Formerly, she taught at Anambra State College in Awka, Nigeria where she was chair of the Department of English. Dr. Umeh is the author of numerous essays on Black women in literature and feminist theory.
