5.0 out of 5 stars Love, love, love this pot
I am not an Emeril fan but this pot had everything I wanted so I bought it and I use it so much that it has not gotten a chance to be put away in the 3 weeks I've had it. It just gets washed and put back on the stove. The 'in the lid strainer' is ingenious in my opinion and the dual pour spouts are practically a necessity. Once again, I love, love, love this pot.

3.0 out of 5 stars Lightweight but functional
I bought the original Emeril Cookware set when it was being manufactured by All-Clad, with a heavy aluminum core and stainless wrap and non-stick coating. Since I treat my cookware dreadfully (i.e., dishwasher) sooner rather than later it needs replacing. The newer versions of Emeril's branded cookware appear to be thinner and lighter, probably solid aluminum throughout,...

4.0 out of 5 stars A thoughtful pot? Who knew?, June 5, 2010

I am going to steal the words of another reviewer: I love, love, LOVE this little pot! Pour spouts?!?!? A strainer in the lid?!?!? This isn't rocket science! Why don't more pots have these thoughtful features? Oh how I so wish there were pour spouts on my Calphalon Contemporary pots!

I did feel that I needed to knock off a star for the handle. It has an inverted or indented channel running down the middle, and it just doesn't feel comfortable or stable in my hand. Not a big deal on a pot this small, but if you're considering a larger Emeril pot, I would strongly encourage you to handle one in person before investing. This might be more a matter of personal preference, but when handling large, heavy, hard-anodized pots, I feel that having a secure, stable, and comfortable grip is important. The only other hard-anodized pot close to this size with pour spouts and strainer lid that I have seen was a 2 quart pot made by Cuisinart; I disliked the handle on that pot even more. If the strainer lid is not important, there are more options. If hard-anodized is not a requirement, check out the highly review and well-priced Faberware Classic one quart pot with strainer.

As for durability, I have used this Emeril pot at least once a week on a glass-top stove for the past three months, and it still looks and functions like it is brand new. As for the long haul, I check back in the future with an update.

I bought this to replace a pot that I accidentally ruined. Anyway, this was closest I could come to it's predecessor. The improvements include the pour spouts and ingenious strainers built into the lid. This is a great little pot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!!, February 27, 2011

These are wonderful saucepans. I especially like the pour spouts, and the fact that the lid is see-through with a rubber underside to the handle. If I would change anything, I would change the curved nature of the handle for the saucepan itself since it is a little uncomfortable, but not bad for a little pan. I believe they curved it this way so that it creates a spoon rest, but I prefer to put my spoon off of to the side. I would buy these again (I bought 2 a the same time.)

The pot is great except the handle on the lid gets too hot. You need a hotpad to touch it.

This is the greatest addition to my Emeril cookware. This is a great
little pot that gets used almost every day.

One of my favorites. Handle stays cool to the touch. Pan has a sturdy quality. Glass top on lid. The lid has sides with 2 areas that are vented. This allows you to pour out excess liquid without pouring the rest of the contents down the sink. Recommended highly.

The only downside, which is an important side, the handles get hot and you have to use a pot holder to take the tops off of the pots. Not safe!

Since I treat my cookware dreadfully (i.e., dishwasher) sooner rather than later it needs replacing. The newer versions of Emeril's branded cookware appear to be thinner and lighter, probably solid aluminum throughout, and I don't care for the "deep dish" cover styling. They tried to make the cover to do double duty as a strainer, it's not really very effective. A real colander or sieve does a much better job and is safer as well. That said, it's a good functional sauce pan that I use nearly every day.
