Individual pans are better quality than sets. Buyer beware when comparing prices.,

Emeril Hard Anodized Nonstick Fry Pans, 8 inch (ASIN B00284B9OM, model E9200264,) 10 inch (ASIN B00284B9PG, model E9200564) and 12 inch (ASIN B00284B9Q0, model E9200764) are good quality pans with hollow-core handles. The handles are easy to grip and don't conduct heat to the bare hand.
All Clad, the parent company of the Emeril line, confirmed that the bonus sets (like 8 and 12 inch pans--ASIN B00284B9QK, model E920S264) are of lesser quality with standard handles. Promotional offers are decidedly not of the same quality as the regular line. Another promotional offer of theirs is the 10-piece set (ASIN B00284B9KQ, model E920SA64). All Clad confirmed that the quality of this set is inferior to the hollow-core handles offered on the more expensive individual pans sold. Since all items have the same title and product description, there isn't a way for Amazon.com to see the difference. Buyer beware; when you purchase a set or pair at a seeming bargain price, it's because you're buying inferior quality. If you seek the hollow core handles good for gripping, spend the extra on the individual pot or pan. Leave the sets alone.

My son gave me both the 12" and the 8" Emeril frying pans. I use the small one for crepes. They have been perfect pans, and they are in constant use. I do not put them in the dishwasher, but nothing sticks to them, and it's not necessary. I use wooden or plastic utensils with them, but there is not a single scratch in either pan, after 2 or 3 years. The finish is very nice. They wash easily with just a sponge or a dish rag. The weight is sturdy, but not too heavy. They are really the two nicest pans I have had and do have. I just ordered 2 more this morning, since they are on sale, and I want my kids to have them. I don't know why people seem to have problems with them. They're great!

Emeril Hard Anodized Nonstick 8-Inch and 12-Inch Fry Pan Set
If you want a non-stick fry pan that lasts, from a company that stands behind their LIFETIME non-stick guarantee, you don't want this pan or anything from Emeril. I had the Emeril 12" nonstick fry pan for about 2 years. I followed ALL of the care instructions to the letter, but it became a gummy mess that everything stuck to. I returned it for a new pan under their lifetime guarantee, and was surprised when they returned my old pan suggesting that I hadn't followed their care instructions. I even called a manager to no avail. This pan was babied. If you get anything non-stick, get a Calphalon. I also had an 8-year old Calphalon non-stick fry pan that I returned at the same time as the Emeril. Calphalon sent me a new pan with a sample of their suggested cleaning product. The Calphalon lasted four times as long as the Emeril, and Calphalon stood behind their lifetime warranty. I threw the Emeril in the trash and went out and bought another Calphalon.

I really couldn't believe I was going to get an authentic Emerilware from All-Clad pan, figured there had to be a catch somewhere, I own All-Clad Stainless steel, a set my husband got for me one year and love it but still needed a nonstick pan. As you may know, All-clad is very pricey just for one item. Low and behold I found this, of course on Amazon.com. I bought two, just in case one "broke down" after use, at least I would have a new one to fall back on until I found something I liked. Afer all, I couldn't beat the price. Well low and behold I now own two fabulous pcs. of non-stick cookware. Highly recomend, you won't be dissapointed. And remember, as some of my friends and family seem to forget, DO NOT PUT NONSTICK IN THE DISHWASHER!! Wash by hand and they will look like new forever...

I've got several editions of these nonstick pans. I've had an 8" and 10" for about 2 years that I use a lot. They work quite well and I am careful never to use metal utensils with them. I just bought this 8" and 12" package deal and there has been a change in the handle design for the worse--it is thin and uncomfortable in the hand--which is kind of a drag, particularly when you're handling a 12" pan. I suspect it was a money issue because the new handle seems cheaper. Nonstick pans are only meant to last 2-5 years anyhow, so I am not too upset, but will probably buy a different brand next time.

I bought both the 8" and 10" pans and I wish I hadn't wasted the money. I've had them for less than a month and have never put them in the dishwasher and I've only used plastic or wooden spoons while cooking in them. Already the coating is scratched and is rubbing off. It's actually peeling off in some spots too. I know there's a lifetime warranty on these but come on, do you think they're really going to side with the consumer on this? They're just going to say that you weren't careful and too bad. I'm not going to go through the hassle of shipping them back just to have them tell that which is not true. Chalk it up to a waste of money. You're paying only for the name and not quality. Do yourself a favor and avoid these.

Decent Pans, But Not Great,

No offense, but if you want a high quality pan that lasts, you should probably steer clear of any that are promoted by the chef de jour. I like Emeril, and his pans are okay, but compared to other cookware, they come up wanting.
I recently aquired an Anolon 10-Piece Cookware Set and have been very impressed with their craftsmanship and performance. Yes, the two fry pans from Emeril cost less and it shows in the end product. The pans are lighter and "feel" cheaper, and the thin handles heat up rather easily making it harder to work with. I've only used them for a month so I can't attest to their longevity, but they've held up well so far. Eggs and pancakes are easy to make in them and they clean up fairly easily. If you want an inexpensive, decent set of frying pans that won't be used too often, then I think this set is a good fit. If you cook all the time and want pans that you can depend on over time, you may want to browse something in a higher price bracket.

Wow, these are great pans. I purchased the 8" and 10" separately and love them both. The nonstick surface is incredibly slick and requires very little oil/butter when cooking, and clean-up is a breeze. I've seen some complaints about the handles, but I don't get it, they are solid and feel comfortable too. I think you'll be happy with these.

I am a long standing fan of All Clad and Emeril's pans are no slouch. For the price, one can not find better quality. The performance of the pans is well above average. The only draw back are the handles; they are of a poor design and difficult to maneuver at first. However, I have grown accustomed to them and am very pleased with my purchase.

I just received this pan and it's going back. I read the reviews so I didn't expect it to be as good as the Emeril pan I have from about 8 years ago but this is ridiculous. It doesn't even compare to my old pan. I can't imagine that this pan will even last a year let alone a lifetime. I would have spent about $20 on it but definitely not $60. Save your money and buy a different pan. I can't believe Emeril or All-Clad would put their name on this pan. Actually, All-Clad didn't put their name on it - its only on the box :-)
