4.0 out of 5 stars Everything we were looking for!, February 4, 2007
This review is from: Emeril Professional 24-Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 6, Adobe Clay (Kitchen)
I am very particular shoppers and spent FOUR HOURS picking out the perfect set. Price wasn't an issue, but I was lucky this was so affordable! I was looking for a bowl that we could actually eat cereal and salad in -- and basically nothing we found could accommodate actual food in it. I was also looking for something with a great coffee mug. Emeril dinnerware definitely delivered. It had HUGE bowls and HUGE mugs which were perfect. The Linen white was the right amount of plain. The quality is also wonderful -- its stoneware so its incredibly durable. A bit on the heavy side but its ok, not impossible to carry. I wish they had smaller plates to compliment the set, however. It gets hot when you put it in the oven for a while (it is stoneware, afterall), and when you put it in the microwave. Its wonderful overall and defintely worth it!

I have 3 teenage boys who do the dishes, generally very quickly and with disastrous results. I bought these dishes after my last set (Pier1 dishes) became so chipped it was humiliating to serve company, plus I didn't have enough of the same sized plated to serve more than my own family. It was time!
Because I got these at Amazon, I actually spent less than I had on the Pier1 set, but the difference is remarkable. Six months later, I still have every single dish, and not a single chip!!! This is truly amazing for my household - unheard of. I am so impressed by the resilience of these dishes. They are beautiful to look at and switch nicely between casual to very elegant dining. We've had them outside on a picnic table, and on an expensive tablecloth with real silver for Thanksgiving. I have received numerous compliments on how nice looking they are. If you are looking for a true value in real stoneware, this is the set for you.

I love these plates. I spent forever trying to find plates that I would like for my new apartment and I wanted a nice simple classy set that I wouldnt get sick of. I finally settled on these because of the great price( its for 6 place settings!) and brand. When they arrived I couldnt be happier. They were packed very nicely and nothing was broken. I wasn't sure what the color would look like but it is actually a very pale neutral green and white. I LOVE them. All of the plates and bowls are a good size, the bowls are deep and and so are the cups. The dinner plates really are huge and my cupboard door sticks out just the tiniest bit because they are so big but I wouldnt trade them for anything. Did I mention that I love these plates?!

5.0 out of 5 stars Just a little too big..., August 8, 2008
This review is from: Emeril Professional 24-Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 6, Adobe Clay (Kitchen)
Overall I love these dishes. I had a hodge podge of dishes and now they finally all match. I love the way they look and feel. They only problem is the actual size of the dishes as other reviewers have noted. For dining, I usually use the salad plate to make sure I'm not eating more just because there would be so much empty room on the dinner plate. The dinner plates fits in my dishwasher, but I have to stick them in the top rack at a weird angle and can only get 4 in at a time. I can fit 3 bowls on either side of the bottom rack.

After years of mis-matched dishes we are so pleased with these. Understated but classy pattern, solid, durable design slightly oversized, but perfect backdrop for food. All pieces feel good to handle.
