Product Description

Amazon.com Review

A world-class collection of nonstick cookware, Emerilware bears the signature of celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse (Bam!) and was created in partnership with renowned cookware maker All-Clad. Durable, heavy, and beautiful, Emerilware combines the contemporary style of charcoal black hard anodized-aluminum with the contemporary ease of nonstick. The exceptional thickness (5 mm) of the hard anodized-aluminum and three layers of tough nonstick provide better heat retention and scratch resistance. Ideal for low-fat, healthful cooking, Emerilware carries a lifetime warranty against defects.

This seven-piece set of Emerilware will win the hearts of Emeril fans and other serious cooks. It consists of an 8-inch fry pan, a 3-1/2-quart saucepan with lid, a 3-quart sauté pan with lid, and a 6-quart stockpot with lid. The 18/10 stainless-steel lids display a gleaming mirror finish and fit tightly on the pot and pans' flared lips, which prevent drips when pouring. The long handles have indented thumb rests and are rounded for comfort. Cast of stainless steel, the polished handles are riveted for strength, stay cool on the stovetop, and are oven-safe. Emerilware should be hand washed. --Fred Brack

4.0 out of 5 stars Misconceptions about teflon, November 15, 2006
This review is from: Emerilware Nonstick 7-Piece Set (Kitchen)
My daughter has this set and she is very happy with it. I also own the EmerilWare large skillet that matches it. One misconception that a lot of people have about teflon is that it peels off because you scratch it. Teflon coatings are harmed by high heat cooking more than anything. If you like to turn your burner on high to get the pan hot then teflon will not perform well for you. The high heat degrades the teflon coating and causes it to peel and chip. The only thing I don't like about this cookware is that the handle does not have a non slip grip on it. The skillet is somewhat heavy so if you want to pour off grease it is hard to hold onto the handle while pouring it out of the skillet. Other than that this cookware performs very well.

1.0 out of 5 stars Failed my personal durability test...., October 3, 2006

This review is from: Emerilware Nonstick 7-Piece Set (Kitchen)
I am sorry to be the only person with a bad review of this product. Perhaps I have not taken better care of my cookware but I cook A LOT! All four people in my family have probably knocked the heck out of this set with cooking several times a day. Well.... in the test of duribility... all the Teflon is chipping off (surprise). The pans are all warped and lop sided. We have been trying to hang on and make this set last but for health reason we have decided to replace this set with Stainless.

I am sick of having to replace my nonstick pots and pans every few months because because of Teflon chips in food. I know that Teflon requires extra care but my family and I need something much more durable that can take a decent beating. This set is not one of them.

I have purchased the All-Clad Master Chef II Stainless set and I have to say I am shocked at how much more of a nonstick surface stainless steel is compared to Teflon. I thought I would be sacraficing a nonstick surface for stainless but that is not the case. All-Clad's stainless says "will not react to food" and it does just that. The food does not stick.

I urge anyone who cooks a lot to pass up any Teflon cookware and skip ahead to stainless, specifically the All-Clad stainless. It will cost you around $400 but you will save money by not having to replace your Teflon set in two-three years.

I do not recommend this set of Emerilware unless you only cook lightly once a day and plan to store your pots with a towel in between each one to avoid damage. In my opinion, this set is not econimically logical to purchase. Nor is it safe for your health because of my experience with the Teflon chipping off. Go for stainless, you wont regret it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great; very longlasting, February 21, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Emerilware Nonstick 7-Piece Set (Kitchen)
We've had this set for over a year now, and it shows little sign of wear. It still works as great as it did new. Other sets we've bought in the past from other manufacturers wore out quickly. Highly recommended.
