This big, solid nonstick skimmer bears the signature of celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse (Bam!) on a shiny stainless-steel plate inset into its handle, and it has all the quality and convenient design features you would expect from Emeril. It's safe for use with any cookware and won't harm a nonstick cooking surface. Contoured to fit the hand snugly, the handle is soft, nonslip rubber and has a hole in its end for hanging on a hook or peg. The big, 4-3/8-inch diameter head skims foam from simmering stocks and soups and is slightly concave to serve ravioli, dumplings, and other foods cooked in liquid. Heat-resistant to 400 degrees F so it won't melt, the skimmer measures 15-1/2 inches long to keep your hands away from heat. For convenience, it's dishwasher-safe. --Fred Brack

Over the years of my cooking, I have tried several brands of kitchen utensils, and I just love these. The grips are so much easier to hold on to, and your hands won't slip on the handles either. I also own several of the more expensive non stick pots and pans, and when using these utensils, there hasn't been even so much as a scratch. They are also very sturdy when lifting something that's on the heavy side. Thumbs up on these!!

Actually, I have used this mostly for stir-fry cooking in my non-stick wok. It is just great for turning food over and moving it around in the wok. It has proved very durable over the year that I have owned it. It does a good job at skimming soups, too, as well as fishing pasta out of boiling water.
