Product Description

Emerilware Grill & Panini Maker by T-fal features 1500 watts of heating power. This electric indoor grill features a large 12- by 8-inch nonstick cooking surface and three cooking positions. Use it in the flat, open grilling position to cook large quantities of food; in the elevated, broil-like position; or in the closed position to melt cheese or reheat foods. Meats and fish are obvious choices for this appliance, but grilled veggie sandwiches, veggie burgers, and tofu dogs work well too. The unit's adjustable thermostat controls the heating elements of both nonstick grill plates, while drip trays catch run-off fat for healthier cooking. The electric-cord eject button provides added convenience, and all parts are dishwasher-safe. Simply remove the power source, separate the two grilling surfaces, and put everything, except the power source, directly into the dishwasher. The grill measures approximately 13 by 10 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.

Having been a long-time user of the Foreman Grilles, but growing dissatisfied over the frequency with which we had to replace them, I thought I'd try something else.

The Emerilware Grille gets noticeably hotter than any George I ever used; it sears quite nicely. Being able to take the electrical components out and wash it in the sink is very handy. Also handy is the ability to open it up to cook a large number of burgers, etc.

Only knock...it's a little big for our daily use (for two); would be nice to have a smaller model!

5.0 out of 5 stars I Love This Grill!, November 24, 2007

This review is from: Emerilware GC4009002 Electric Grill and Panini Maker (Kitchen)
I bought this grill over a year ago when it was called the T-Fall Fit 'N Clean Indoor Grill and was $30 less expensive. It still works great and still looks brand new. The only thing I can say bad about this grill is the little plastic splash guard broke immediately, but I've never felt a need for that part. I was originally looking for a sandwich/panini maker and after spending hours reading reviews for different products, I'm so glad I chose this one.

Love that it's got a floating hinged top and even large panini sandwiches can easily fit in it. I don't use it much completely open, but I do use it to cook all sorts of foods with the top elevated like a broiler or with the top up. Doesn't take long to pre-warm it up, has different temperature settings, cooks quickly and grease runs right into the drip pans that stay put.

Love that it completely comes apart for cleaning. I use a moist paper towel and wipe off both grills while it's still warm and everything, even melted cheese, comes off the surface really easily (I never use cooking sprays on it) and then when it cools down, I wash it in my sink.

I highly recommend this grill. If mine ever breaks, I'd spend the extra dollars and buy it again in a heartbeat.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works Fine but a Bit Clumsy, September 30, 2007

This grill has two advantages, not ordinarily found on the same model. The heating elements are firmly attached to the grill surface, and the surfaces are immersible in water (along with the rest of the grill). That means efficient heating and easy washability in the same unit. It's somewhat of a Rube Goldberg contraption but, bottom line: it works very well. Worst problem I think is that since Emeril put his name on this T-Fal product the price has gone up.
