Better than George!,

Having been a long-time user of the Foreman Grilles, but growing dissatisfied over the frequency with which we had to replace them, I thought I'd try something else.
The Emerilware Grille gets noticeably hotter than any George I ever used; it sears quite nicely. Being able to take the electrical components out and wash it in the sink is very handy. Also handy is the ability to open it up to cook a large number of burgers, etc. Only knock...it's a little big for our daily use (for two); would be nice to have a smaller model!

I Love This Grill!,

This review is from: Emerilware GC4009002 Electric Grill and Panini Maker (Kitchen)
I bought this grill over a year ago when it was called the T-Fall Fit 'N Clean Indoor Grill and was $30 less expensive. It still works great and still looks brand new. The only thing I can say bad about this grill is the little plastic splash guard broke immediately, but I've never felt a need for that part. I was originally looking for a sandwich/panini maker and after spending hours reading reviews for different products, I'm so glad I chose this one.
Love that it's got a floating hinged top and even large panini sandwiches can easily fit in it. I don't use it much completely open, but I do use it to cook all sorts of foods with the top elevated like a broiler or with the top up. Doesn't take long to pre-warm it up, has different temperature settings, cooks quickly and grease runs right into the drip pans that stay put. Love that it completely comes apart for cleaning. I use a moist paper towel and wipe off both grills while it's still warm and everything, even melted cheese, comes off the surface really easily (I never use cooking sprays on it) and then when it cools down, I wash it in my sink. I highly recommend this grill. If mine ever breaks, I'd spend the extra dollars and buy it again in a heartbeat.

Works Fine but a Bit Clumsy,

This grill has two advantages, not ordinarily found on the same model. The heating elements are firmly attached to the grill surface, and the surfaces are immersible in water (along with the rest of the grill). That means efficient heating and easy washability in the same unit. It's somewhat of a Rube Goldberg contraption but, bottom line: it works very well. Worst problem I think is that since Emeril put his name on this T-Fal product the price has gone up.

Awesome product -- much better and cheaper than the red George Foreman model with all the interchangeable plates. This is very easy to clean up whether you have a dishwasher or not.

Product works great. Does what it claims and is wonderful to clean. Just cook, cool, remove electric component, wash or place in dishwasher and that's it! I've cooked sandwiches, steaks(bone-in), chops, dogs, brats, and fish filets and they all turned out great.

Fit and Clean,
This review is from: Emerilware GC4009002 Electric Grill and Panini Maker (Kitchen)
This same grill had been marketed directly by T-Fal, and for thirty dollars less. I have owned this grill for nearly a year and I am still happy with the purchase. It is superior to GF grills that we had previously owned.
The heating element, which is the silver portion in the picture, detaches from the grill. A similar heating element is on the bottom and it detaches from the grill as well. The top and the bottom of the grill then separate, which makes it easy to clean the surface. I think that the ease of cleaning is what makes this superior to other grills. This grill can hold two good size hamburgers as well as two onion slices. The metal wire flips on the front hold the top and the bottom together for storage. It also can be used to hold the top grill slightly open, for example to melt the cheese on the burger; I found this a bit awkward since the drip pan must be moved in order to flip the bar; hot grease and juices can drip on the counter while doing this. Other than this small inconvenience, this is a well designed grill.

Malfunctioning after only 1 year of use,
This review is from: Emerilware GC4009002 Electric Grill and Panini Maker (Kitchen)
I've owned this grill for about a year and I loved it at first. But, unfortunately, love fades, and so did the functionality of this grill. The thermostat appears to be failing because the grill no longer holds temperature after preheating. It now takes twice as long to cook steaks and fish as it did when the unit was new. And the non-stick coating has worn off the grill plates, even though I was very careful when cleaning them. Food now sticks to the cooking surface like glue, even when using large amounts of cooking oil. All in all, this product has turned out to be a big disappointment and a waste of money.

This grill is the end all of grill purchasing. Emeril has done a fine job of putting his name and reputation on the line for this grill. It chars and cooks steaks exactly as you want them. An endless imagination awaits the creative panini maker. Clean up is fast and easy. You will never need to purchase another grill no matter what the manufacturers come up with next. Absolultely perfect!

So easy to clean!,

I really researched grills like this one before I bought. This is the only one under $100 that had all the features I wanted: an adjustable thermostat, grates that could be taken apart and cleaned in the sink or the dishwasher, enough power to sear a steak, could also do panini. I'm so happy with it. I've done panini, steak, salmon, and veggies. The grill is easy to wipe clean after most things and cleans up easy, but after grilling the steak and salmon, it was a little harder. But I just took the grates apart and put them in my dish water and they washed up super quick and easy. I debated about grills without removable grates, but I'm sooo glad I chose one that has submersible (or dishwasher safe) grates!
