3.0 out of 5 stars OK for the price.
I have to agree with the reviewer who found these pots very hard to keep clean. Or perhaps my expectations were too high because of the name attached to this product. The stir fry pans especially get grease stains very easily that just do not come off, even with a gritty cleansing powder. I did not think that they would stay as beautiful as they were out of the box...

My kids moved out and it was time to get professional grade cookware. Baby let me tell you what! This is it; you can not get any better. This is top of the line but if you have not used professional cookware you will need to learn to cook all over. Non-stick is not professional cookware by the way. No matter how much you clean non-stick and take care of non-stick, it will always have food/taste carry over from what ever you cooked before. Stainless Steal will not ever have carry over taste. Follow the all-clad cooking tips and watch Food TV and you will not only be cooking like a pro but you will feel like a pro and really enjoy cooking. The only exception to this is scrambled eggs, keep or buy a non-stick fry pan just for scrambled eggs. I myself added the 8" stainless steal with non-stick coating from Emerilware. Hey you got have at least one non-stick coating pan on hand, what good chef would not. So it might as well be the best.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cooktop workhorses, March 10, 2009

This review is from: Emerilware Stainless Steel 10 Piece Cookware Set (Kitchen)
I have used my set daily for four years now.

A caveat; if you are expecting All-Clad heft, this set isn't for you. This set does have All-Clad quality, but in a lighter set.

Pro:
The pans heat evenly across the entire bottom. I am currently stuck using an electric range, but you couldn't tell that in the pans. There are not any burner matching rings burned into any of the pans. I tend to use the highest heat settings while cooking.
All pans have a lip that allows you to pour/transfer their contents without dribbling.
Pans are stainless steel, but easily seasoned so that many foods do not stick.
Size range is perfect for a small family. They are my goto pans for almost every meal.
The lids are glass and you can keep an eye on what's going on in them.

Cons:
I don't use the two smaller frying pans. I don't like the flared sides coming from a small pan bottoms. The small bases on these two pans mean that I leave exposed burner glowing red to the air. They're kinda like small flat bottom woks; only too small for a decent wok.
The lids recurve back into the pan, good for recycling condensation while cooking, bad for taking the lid off as they are guaranteed to collect a lot of condensation and to dump it when you are not expecting it. A major problem if you're frying and you dump the condensation in the oil. I find myself leaning the lid, handle up, somewhere so the water drains on the counter, not back into my pan or onto a burner.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't listen to the negative feedback!, July 10, 2008
By
Tara Lopez-Ference (Fort Lauderdale, FL) - See all my reviews
The ones who rate this cookware set either have something against Emeril or don't know how to cook! I've had this set for three years and it still looks brand new! Heavy, durable and easy to clean (use Barkeeper's Friend and you'll never soak or use elbow grease again!). Handles stay cool and remember to cook over medium heat because the conductivity is very fast! Get one non-stick pan for eggs and you're set! Buy this set and it's an investment. Other cheap sets you're going to replace every few years. Took me 3 sets of cheap non-stick pans to figure that one out!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow!! Kick Your Gourmet Cooking up Several Notches!! Unknown to Mankind!!!!!!!!!, June 16, 2008

This review is from: Emerilware Stainless Steel 10 Piece Cookware Set (Kitchen)
This gourmet cookware set will probably be the last one that I'll ever have to buy in life!! It meets and exceeds all of my expectations!!

It's very heavy, solid, durable and efficient and great!! It has thick-clad 3-ply bottoms with a layer of copper sandwiched between to stainless steel plates that spread even heat and end hot dpots that cause food to cook unevenly.

Stainless steel handles are heavy and riveted to the pots and pans! Tempered glass lids with stainless steel riveted handles and stainless steel rims. Plus a lifetime warranty.

Made through an agreement between famous celebrity TV Chef Emeril Lagasse
and All-Clad, this cookware set will last a lifetime with proper use and care.

Comes with a 10-inch open skillet, 8-inch open skillet, 6-qt covered Dutch Oven, 3-qt covered casserole and a 2-qt saucepot. Lids for the Dutch Oven and 3-qt casserole fit 10-inch and 8-inch skillets respectively.

Easy to clean. Just wash by hand in hot soapy water or wash in the dishwasher. Lusterous and luscious cookware that you'll be very proud to own!!!

I've even bought matching open stock pieces to turn this set into a whopping 30-piece set!! So nice to have!!!

I have to agree with the reviewer who found these pots very hard to keep clean. Or perhaps my expectations were too high because of the name attached to this product. The stir fry pans especially get grease stains very easily that just do not come off, even with a gritty cleansing powder. I did not think that they would stay as beautiful as they were out of the box forever, but they looked many years old after the first use. The heat is even, however. And, I am pleased with the overall performance. The only pot that I have trouble balancing is the small fryer. The handle seems a little too heavy for the pot on my gas range top.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great cookware for the price, May 22, 2009
A Kid's Review
Remember, this is stainless steel. It's not Calphalon, or Farberware. Start the range on a low setting, I usually start at around 3 on a scale of 1-10 and rarely have to go above 4-4.5 on my range. These pots are made by All Clad, one of THE great names in cookware. I have not had any problems with staining or discoloring. I use bartenders friend to clean the pots. I have even put them in the dishwasher when I was too tired to wash them by hand. For the money, I don't think you can get a better set of cookware that will give you great results if you follow the directions that are included. Remeber, low heat does not translate to slow cook times. Even heat means food cooks at a better rate. Watch your food until you get used to cooking with these.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good, durable, heavy stainless steel set, March 25, 2008
I've had my set since October 2006 -- I bought this set because we were moving to a brand new house and couldn't bear to bring my old mismatched pots and pans with me. This set is extremely well made, very durable and easy to clean. That said, I really enjoy cooking with this set -- things really do brown the way all the cookbooks say they should. Do, as another reviewer says, buy a good teflon pan for those scrambled eggs.

5.0 out of 5 stars the melting review is bogus, these are great..revised, December 14, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
There is a review posted here that says the bottom of a stainless and copper pot "melted while boiling water". This defies the laws of physics! Water cannot go above 212 degrees F at sea level. Copper melts at 1986 F and stainless at 2550 F. So this was the result of ABUSE, an empty pot at least on a turned-up burner and the special solder connecting the layers must have melted. That takes a LOT of heat!! People expect products to protect them from their own mistakes and this is ridiculous. ANY empty pot left empty on a burner will be bent, melted, burned or otherwise destroyed...period.

Secondly, food sticking. Guess what? If you are not cooking in a non-stick pot, such as Teflon-coated (now proven TOXIC if overheated), food will stick. Careful cooking and a scrubbee pad or 3M pot scrubber will clean these 1-2-3. PAM cooking spray or a bit of olive, peanut or vegetable oil works better than butter, which tends to burn if the temp is too hi in ANY pan. I have removed all Teflon and aluminum pans from our home due to potential health risks and I love these pans. The copper bottom is way better than aluminum at spreading the heat and they cook evenly every time. Sure, Teflon is easier, and there are some other cook surfaces that are supposedly safe, but I love these. A nice iron pan that has been properly "seasoned" may be the only equivalent, and they're a LOT heavier.

People should not post such nonsense.

4.0 out of 5 stars I've owned this cookware 3 yrs and really like it, January 5, 2009
By
Brad (Raleigh, NC) - See all my reviews
I cook primarily on weekends and for family gatherings. I bought this cookware 3 yrs ago and it has done very well. I use it on a gas cooktop. It heats very evenly and I am usually using low heat with good results. Clean-up hasn't been a problem. Occasionally, I use Bon Ami on the saute pans to brighten them up. I have recommended this set to friends and would buy it again.

The negative one star rating expressed has not been my experience at all, and this cookware is made by All-Clad. I've had this set for over a year and it lokks & works great! Solid, durable and easy to clean. Handles stay cool and the heat conductivity is great! For the money, I don't think this cookware can be beat.
