1.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't pass for a Binocular or a Digital Camera....., January 27, 2010

The quality level of the digital camera is sub par to say the least, the images that it takes always come out blurry and it lacks proper software to edit and upload images, and the binoculars are very uncomfortable, and give no eye relief and are always blurry.. i dont know how Amazon can sell stuff like this and not be ashamed of themselves, sad thing is i love just about everything about Amazon being a higher scale version of any other internet websites, like [...], but it seems they dropped the ball on this one.

1.0 out of 5 stars Got them free and still not worth the price, May 9, 2010
This review is from: Emerson 10x25 Binoculars (Sports)
This is a lousy pair of binoculars and an even worse camera.

Nothing is intuitive. It's all spelled out in the manual in light type that is hard to read, and the abbreviations in the 1/2" x 3/8" LCD screen are intuitive only if you think that "St" is easily understood as "Self Shooting" and that actually means, so far as I could figure out, a 10-second delay self timer.

The camera is completely useless if your computer does not recognize the software. That means that even though it is a USB connection to the computer, the Macintoshes of the world won't recognize it (but they recognize a lot of other USB camera connections). It means your Windows machine must have a compatible OS (98, ME, 2000, XP, or Vista) operating system.

What you see through the binoculars is not what the camera lens sees. Far from it. The picture is about 1/3 of the field of vision.

If the light is low, the camera will not take a picture, but it won't tell you why it didn't work, either.

I spent about a half hour with this and will not even look for someone to give it to for free.

This camera is horrible! Thank god I bought it off the dump bin at CVS. I would be FURIOUS if I paid full price. It's hard to use. Difficult to get a good focus. Picture quality is grainy. You have to use proprietary software to get pictures off the camera. It's just a bad, bad, bad product.

1.0 out of 5 stars more junk from across the sea, September 24, 2010
This review is from: Emerson 10x25 Binoculars (Sports)
I thought it would be great to be able to document all the things I have been seeing with my binoculars, so I thought it awesome when this product came out. Imagine my surprise when I found that the image I saw through the lenses of the bincoluars, WASN'T what the camera recorded! There was no magnification of the picture! What good is this? I may as well have used my existing digital camera..
This is simply more junk from that big communist country across the ocean. I remember when Japanese goods were like this but they figured out what Americans demanded - QUALITY - and they got better - MUCH better. Can the Chinese do the same? Will they?

Drivers that come with the camera do not work with XP. I tried on 2 different computers with XP and the device would not work with either.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't even think about this product., December 27, 2010
This review is from: Emerson 10x25 Binoculars (Sports)
This is a great idea. But, sadly, this product is junk.
I concur with everyone else who wrote about it. Right out of the box I was treated to double vision. I didn't even bother dealing with the camera.
If the manufacturer put some time and effort into this great idea I'm sure they would be getting very good reviews instead of the well deserved aweful ones that are all over this page.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Worth Buying, December 25, 2010
This review is from: Emerson 10x25 Binoculars (Sports)
I received these binoculars from my daughter as a gift for Christmas. I put the batteries in that came with the binoculars but it would not turn on. I thought the batteries might be dead so I put in new batteries when I got home. The LCD display still would not turn on. I am angry because my daughter spent good money for this junk and I don't want to tell her they will not work. Shame on any company for bought this low quality stuff and put it on the shelf for people to buy. Just note they are MADE IN CHINA.

1.0 out of 5 stars Trash, October 2, 2011
This review is from: Emerson 10x25 Binoculars (Sports)
This is the worst piece of junk I have ever purchased. Emerson puts a MSRP of $60.00 on this product. If I paid that much I would shoot myself. I will never purchase any type Emerson product again... Any company that would put their name on something like this obviously has no regard for their name-brand nor the customer. I was too embarrassed to even give it away, so I pulled out the cheap batteries to save, and tossed the rest of it in the trash where it belongs. I am even embarrassed to have the garbage collector have to haul it to the dump!
