This microwave is perfect for a single person or small family. It's small, but efficient. It doesn't do well with large bags of popcorn but excellent with single serving size. The lower wattage requires a few more seconds to reheat my coffee, but it's worth the space it saves in my apartment! I also really like that it is black and steel colored. Just what I had been looking for at the right price!

I chose an Emerson microwave because the microwave I was replacing was an Emerson, and had lasted me 23 years! (In fact, it was still working but I just wanted a new one after that long). The new model I received looks really sleek with the stainless steel look, and it is very easy to use. I especially like it beeping to remind me I have something in the microwave.

The one drawback I see with this unit is it is not very tall, which is the only reason I did not give this a full five-star rating. Other than that, I'm sure it will last me as long as my previous Emerson!

This suddenly broke after a couple of months. It looks nice and shiny but is actually a cheap piece of garbage.

I bought mine back in July and it just stopped cold yesterday after less than a year. I had a GE before that lasted 23 years. They told me to send back and they would send me another one. What a bother.

works fine, however the panel is printed black on gray, very hard to make out the numbers.

I gave this microwave to my dad for Christmas. He truly enjoys it, and makes cooking/heating his meals so much faster. He is able to cook many different meals in no time. He truly enjoys his new microwave.

Love this microwave. I have only had it for less than one month but so far i am satisfies with it. Hopefully it does not stop working after only one year like my previous one.

The first emerson model mw8119sb I purchased 4 months ago just stopped heating the food. Their customer service department is horrorable. So I gave up trying to see if I can troubleshoot it being that I have 3 growing boys who eat all the time. I bought (like an idiot) this emerson microwave and it will heat the food to luke warm. It will not get any hotter. AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER EMERSON AGAIN IN LIFE!! You all purchase at your own risk cause their customer service is just terrable.

I have purchased a lot of Emerson products in the past but I will no longer. I purchased a microwave three years ago only for it to start smelling as though it were about to start on fire. It smelled like burning electrical wires. It is now in the dump. Not only do they have issues with microwaves, I recently purchased an electric wine opener and that does not work either. They make poor quality products. After contacting customer service they said there was nothing they could do. They completely ignored the wine opener issue. I now will refuse to purchase anything Emerson. My best advice is DO NOT buy Emerson, you will only end up throwing it out after a year or two or after one use.

Purchased this microwave for use in my RV. Did not read reviews ahead of time, just saw it in Target and it was the right size. After installing and testing I noticed my tea was not very warm. Long story short, went to USDA site for info on microwaves. A 700 watt unit should heat one cup of ice cold water to boiling in 3 minutes or less. One cup of cool water (from fridge door) was put in a two cup glass measuring cup. After four minutes the water was only 185 F as measured by a candy thermometer. No visible sign of boiling. That puts it in the power range of 350 to 500 watt ovens according to the USDA site. I returned it. Cannot say if the unit was defective or if this is typical of this model.
