The aspects I like most about this lamp are very personal, so this review will hardly be objective and very much reflect my personal preferences. During the ongoing project of furnishing my apartment, this is one of the nicest pieces I have purchased. The design is simple, succinct, compact and elegant with very clear lines. The light it gives off through the glass shades is soft and amber, due to the frosting of the glass. When turned off, the glass shades appear opaque.

One important aspect of this lamp is that th glass shades are long enough to adequately cover regular bulbs, viz. a little less than six inches. This fact should not be underestimated, because I have seen a few reviews of lamps online that complained about light bulbs sticking out from underneath lamp shades, totally ruining the visual effect of the lamp and making it appear very cheap and thougthlessly designed. When assembled, there is no gap between the shades and the lamp - they align flawlessly and fit perfectly into their respective bases.

I have a large living room - a little more than 12x12 feet, but I'm too lazy to measure exactly right now. It does not make the room as bright as an office or enough for a workspace, but the room is kind of very open, so a lot of the light gets lost. It's hard for me to describe how bright it is. I don't have anything to measure it objectively or compare it to. One of my friends actually complained that looking into the lamp directly hurt her eyes, so it may be brighter than I perceive it. However, this shouldn't be a problem for anyone, since this lamp can be dimmed.

I like that directly around the lamp, there is a small perimeter that is very bright, because the shades of this lamp are open on the bottom side. I used this aspect by placing it directly next to one end of my living room couch which provides very nice light for reading when lying on the couch; I love reading under it with my Kindle :).

Since this lamp has lights to all sides, buyers may want to consider this when choosing a place for it. I have noticed that it seems to look odd when placed against a wall. The shape and omni-directional lighting of this lamp make it better suited when placed in the center of a room. This way the design of this lamp is fully visible as well. In short, I think this lamp is meant to be visible from all sides. I may upload images of it in my living room later on to illustrate that point better.

The paint on the lamp seems very even. I'm not sure how easily it would scrape off or if it would scrape off at all. I'm not an expert on that.

When looking at this lamp I was at first concerned that the horizontal rods that are attached to the base would be a weak point in the construction of this lamp and may bend. However, there is a ring in the center top of this lamp that welds all four of these together, so it appears and feels super sturdy. I'm not sure how well this is visible on the images online.

Concerning the assembly, it was very quick for me to assemble. It was very intuitive so I didn't need the instructions. The entire assembly consists of placing the four glass shades around the bases of the light bulbs' sockets and screw a ring around the sockets from underneath which holds the shades in place. In order to reach these rings, since one has to reach into the glass shades from underneath, the manufacturer includes an elongated, round plastic tool that fits around the rings, so they don't need to be reached by hand when screwed in. All in all, assembly took me about five minutes.

Packaging seemed good. All pieces were kept separate and were wrapped with packaging material individually.

I really can't think of anything negative to say about this lamp and I can be very critical about products. Maybe other reviewers will find aspects about this lamp that could be improved. Perhaps the cord could be longer (it's about 6') ... but then again, one can use an extension cord, if that is too short. Other reviewers will have to report how many samples arrive damaged or broken - mine at least arrived in perfect condition.
