We got this alarm clock radio for my 6yr old son for Christmas, his first alarm clock. He loves it. You can set it to wake up by radio, or the Hot Wheel sound which is wheels peeling out and an anouncer telling the racers to "START YOUR ENGINES", then the wheels peel out again and says something about racing for the checkerd flag. The volume dial and the radio tuner dial are wheels and the radio has a pretty good sound for an alarm clock. Great buy

It looks cool and my 6 year old son loves the "car" design. Here's the good and bad of it:

THE GOOD:
Cool design, built-in night light, easy to read clock, big snooze button, lots of features for an inexpensive kid's clock-radio.

THE BAD:
1. The alarm volume is controlled by the same dial as the radio volume so if your little one likes to fall asleep to quiet music via the sleep function, then the alarm is practically useless the next morning unless your kid is a very light sleeper.
2. It's very light weight and the buttons on the front require pretty firm effort to depress. It requires two hands to push the buttons, one to hold the clock in place, the other to push the button. Otherwise, you'll push the clock right off the nightstand.
3. The FM radio antenna isn't worth much. We live in an area with numerous high wattage radio stations and this won't pick up but one or two stations regardless of where in the house it's located.

My 5 year old step son absolutely LOVES his alarm clock. It's so easy for him to use and it actually works!!! He wakes up with it every morning and gets himself ready for school. He knows how to turn it on at night and off in the morning. Plus it's "cool" too because it's a car. The alarms are loud, but he needs that to wake up in the morning. He loves that he's a big boy now! I DEFINITELY recommend this alarm. And the red glow acts as a nightlight too!

Bought this for my Grandson. He just loves it. The night light feature is awesome. He sets it just so he can hear the Hot Wheel sounds in the morning. He mastered the functions at 5 years of age. Highly recommend.

He sets it all by himself every night (kindergarten), independence and a break for mom!

We got this as a birthday gift for our 7-year-old, and he just loves it!! I like that it has the sleep feature, too, so that he can listen to the radio as he falls asleep.

I bought two units for my 6 and 4 year old boys and they love the radio. It has certianly helped us from calling them over 10 times in the mornning to get up and get ready for school. The radio is loud and clear and the easily picks up radio the most common radio stations. The volume is very high and that helps alot. I also like the night light althought it could be a little brighter. In any case, this is a very good unit for kids. I recommend it.

I bought this for my son at Christmas over a year ago, and we still love it. He is 7, and really likes this next to his bed for school time. He has really got the SNORE button down, but don't we all. I shopped at Target, WalMart and other retail stores for a fun alarm clock, and this one on Amazon was the best I found. A little bit pricier, but fun for the kids, very functional and easy to work.

This product is great!!!! WE bought this for our son for his birthday. He loves getting up to the race car sounds.

I bought this for my grandson's 8th birthday. He loves hot wheels and he LOVES this alarm clock. He likes that it's digital,so he knows the exact time. He really likes the screeching wheels alarm sound. I think most young boys would think this is a great way to wake up.
