Our two daughters, 8 and 10, love the Karaoke.

It is loud, works great standalone as in the video, or you can plug it to a TV using standard video/audio out connectors. There is a video out as well to record your singing. The included microphones work OK. The unit is ligh enough to be portable.

The controls allow you to decide how loud the background music is relative to the microphone singing and each mic has an individual volume control. There is an echo control as well. Even us grown ups have had our share of fun with this unit.

I must say I am very impressed with this unit. I am upgrading from the emerson GP398, so this is a huge step up. Emerson GP398 Portable CD+G Karaoke System

However you must realize this is meant for home/personal use and therefore isn't going to give you professional level quality. With that being said this is still a nice unit that is affordable. If you can't afford to go pro, than this is a good alternative.

I am very pleased, the mics aren't the best but they are still better than the usual mic that gets sent out with these types of karaoke machines.

The screen is rather small and black and white so if you have bad eyes you will want to definitely hook this up to a bigger tv.
