The Emerson iTone iP500WH Portable Audio System is a compact, portable system that allows you to dock any iPod available as of January 2006 (including iPod Shuffle, iPod nano, and iPod Mini) and play it through the built-in speakers. Because your iPod connects directly to the front-mounted docking system, this system is ideal for when you want to share your music with others, or for those times when listening through your ear buds is simply not an option. This system also features a digital clock and radio system with a full function remote control, as well as a folding bracket that lets you mount the iTone iP500WH on a wall or below a cabinet. And thanks to the USB connector, you can connect your iPod shuffle, while the included AC adapter lets you connect the system to an AC outlet and charge the battery of any iPod.

It's a breeze to customize the iTone iP500WH according to your personal preferences. The digital turner automatically scans the AM and FM bands and locks in stations perfectly with no repetitive fine tuning required. And you can save 30 of your favorite stations (15 AM and 15 FM) in the preset memory tuner for immediate recall at the touch of a button. The digital clock allows you to fall asleep and wake up to the radio or your iPod and a full function remote control makes for extremely convenient operation. If you need a little extra sleep, simply press the snooze button. With an illuminated, unified LCD display, this system makes sure you can always clearly see the time. Wide-range, three-inch speakers deliver a crystal clear, high-quality sound experience.

The iTone iP500WH can be operated on six "AA" batteries (plus two "AA" for clock and turner memory back up; batteries not included) or normal I20V AC house current (AC adaptor included). There's even an included an auxiliary input jack so you can connect other MP3 players, personal CD players, or any other external device that has a headphone jack.

The iTone iP500WH comes with a 90 day warranty.

I love everything about this clock radio-except for one thing. It has AM/FM radio and an iPod dock with a remote control, with great sound. The only problem is that the alarm (radio or iPod) starts out at a low level and quickly increases to an ear blasting level. I don't appreciate being jarred out of bed. I called Emerson to see if this was a defect with one radio or a feature of the product. It'a a feature, and, sadly, I'm going to return it.

I purchased this in December 2006 to sit in my cube at work so I could listen to the ipod without draining the battery. I had a tough choice choosing between this and another one, but went with this one because of the free super saver shipping. What a great deal! Not only is this item superbly compact enough to be discreet on my desk, but the sound quality coming from the speakers is excellent.

What I really like this product is the ability to charge the ipod while listening, which is a definite plus. Also, I have read other reviews about the ipods not fitting securely into the station, and they must have fixed that because I did not have that problem. In the box there were adaptors for each type of ipod, and my ipod mini fit extremely securely.

You can program 10 FM and 10 AM stations into the radio channel memory, and I like the fact that the date will show with the time on the screen. The remote is compact but easy to use, and I also really like that the antenna is a wire in the back of the system and not a large silver antenna sticking out of the top.

I would highly recommend this!

This compact system is perfect for my child to use with her iPod Shuffle. The sound is not the best on the market, but decent for the price and primary audience. This is a far superior alternative to many of the other i-accessories on the market that will work with a Shuffle, three of which we tried before settling on this one. The only shortfall is that you can't use the Shuffle with the alarm clock. I realize this is more of a limitation of the Shuffle than this dock, but Emerson could be more explicit in stating this in the ad. Overall, I'd recommend this for a child's room, small office space, or use while travelling.
