The compact, portable Emerson iTone iP100BK sound system plays your iPod through its pair of wide-ranging speakers, so you can share your music with others without having to use the headphones. The system includes a built-in iPod docking station with four inserts, letting you dock and charge every "dockable" iPod currently available (as of January 2006). The auxiliary input jack, meanwhile, lets you connect a non-dockable iPod such as the first-generation models, the iPod shuffle, or other brands of MP3 players and portable CD players to the system. And there's no need to purchase an extra connection cable, as the iTone iP100BK comes with everything you need to immediately connect and play your favorite songs.
The iTone iP100BK is loaded with features and options that go beyond simply holding your iPod, including a headphone jack, an AM/FM stereo radio with a digital station frequency display for more precise tuning, and a digital alarm clock that wakes to the radio or an electronic buzzer. Stylish and compact, the iTone iP100BK is an ideal bedside companion.
Other details include a sleek black housing; a dynamic bass boost system; heavy-duty, wide-ranging 3-inch speakers; a built-in AM antenna and telescoping FM antenna; and pushbutton controls for band and function selection. The iTone iP100BK works with all iPod models (either through the docking station or auxiliary input), including the iPod nano, iPod shuffle, and iPod mini. In addition, listeners have the choice of powering the iTone using either six C-size batteries (not included) or the AC adapter. I bought this as a low cost alternative to some of the other iPod clock radios out there and returned the first one because I was getting the same loud hissing out of the speakers like previous consumers have stated. When I exchanged it for another one, I got the same hissing. I tried multiple cradle adaptors and was about to return it again when I pulled the iPod up very slightly from the docking station. Once I did this it was crystal clear. Turns out the docking station plug is taller than most other iPod charger docks and puching it too far will create the interference.
Sorry for being long winded, but long story short, now that I have it figured out, the sound is fine and for a workplace music player this is just the thing I was looking for. Knowing what I know now about, I would recommend it.

fitty bucks - not bad,

This thing is fine if you want it for a kitchen or bedroom. Light weight and small makes it good for camping or BBQ's. Sound is pretty tinny especially at higher volumes. Not recommended for large rooms or for your only sound system.

Looked good but sound was not very good. Power switch broke the first day. I returned the system.
