Book Description

October 27, 2009
Sixteen year old Abigail Tabitha Avery feels her life has taken a turn for the worse. Her father has just died and her mother has moved the family from sunny Florida to cold and snowy Montana. Tabitha, as she chooses to be called, is miserable, until she meets the student body president of her high school. He is as charming as he is handsome, but on the first day of school, he makes her miserable. However, she finds he has a unique power over her subconscious and she begins to rely on him more than she should. When he nearly kills her, she discovers his secret. He is a vampire. She realizes that his lust for her may be more than even he can resist. She doesn't want to become like him, but how can she refuse, when she learns that the very town she has moved to is a haven for his kind?

5.0 out of 5 stars An interesting read!!, December 4, 2009
By
Misty R. (Greenville, SC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Emery (Paperback)
Having read many vampire book I was hooked on the vampire world and wanted to read more. When I started reading "Emery" I thought that it was very similar to some others I had read but that quickly changed as I got further into the story. It was hard to put it down. Each chapter is more exciting than the previous and you want to keeping reading to find out what happens next. If you are looking for a great book to fuel your need for vampires this is the book. I am sure you will not be disappointed. The end leaves you wanting more and I am anxiously awaiting Ms. Mitchell's next book to see where the twists and turns will take us.

5.0 out of 5 stars Emery and Tabitha: vampiredom's hottest new teen couple!, November 15, 2009

This review is from: Emery (Paperback)
I finished Shonnovan's Mitchell's new book Emery at 4:30am this morning, after a marathon reading session (I started it at 8pm last night!). This is one book worth pulling an all-nighter!

Emery is frightening, seductive, romantic, thrilling, and even comedic at times. I couldn't put it down.

During the read I found myself no longer conscious of printed words on the page, instead I was transported to where the characters were and was right next to them; enthralled with their story unfolding before my eyes. Mitchell's characters are completely believable.

Tabitha and Emery are vampiredom's hottest new teenage couple. The ending (no spoiler here) will leave you begging for more. Mitchell will not disappoint. She's currently writing the sequel to Emery where we'll see the two, now young adult lovers, struggling to keep their unusual relationship alive in the realm of the undead.

1.0 out of 5 stars Literates Beware, May 27, 2010

If you are older than 25 and/or educated beyond 10th grade, this book is not for you. Even vampire fans (admittedly I am not one) will find this tale far fetched and sophomoric. Sorry I couldn't be more positive, but seeing this book rated 5 stars was more than I could allow to let stand.
