5.0 out of 5 stars Emglo products
The Emglo products are always top of the line in performance and competitive pricing. I lived on a farm where Emglo was all that Dad would buy. This compressor is excellent in performace and space. Since it is fairly light in weight, I installed it in my garage attic, it operates very quitely.

I was very excited to receive my Emglo M790-HC4V air compressor today. When ordering it, I really liked the size and layout of the controls and gauges. Unfortunatly, it arrived dead on arrival. This compressor is great. It rebounds very fast. When i first got mine it made a funny noise, alot like a little gas engine trying to start, and it stillmakes a sorter version the first time i turn it on.It has plenty of power. Be sure the swithch to a lighter oil in winter use, mine has triped a 15 amp circut when starting up on a cold morning.I like having the splitter for youe air hoses right in the middle of the two tanks, it eliminate a splitter which ten to leak after a while. There are nice big rummber feet on the bottom to keep it on the ground nice and sturdy. you can hardly drag it even if you try.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the best portable compessor made, February 25, 2001

The first job I gave this machine the structural engineer spec'ed 16d 3 1/2 in nails and this compressor hardly even recycled. It can easily run 2 nailers with the twin connections. If you are in a cold environment like February in Michigan use the oil for cold temperatures otherwise it will trip a 15amp breaker when fired up in the morning - might sound stange but this does not happen with the cold temp oil. Great machine

5.0 out of 5 stars Mini Sherman Tank, June 7, 2001

This review is from: Emglo M790-HC4V 2 HP Electric Master Series Compressor (Tools & Home Improvement)
I love this little tank, strong, secure, quiet, well designed, and good workmanship. It runs all day without care. The dual hookups and gauges are a nice feature, the hoses aren't anchored to the tank plumbing like on most portables

5.0 out of 5 stars 2001 Model, April 5, 2001

I just purchased a Master Series Model 800 (which is supposed to be the latest version of the 790) it is one sweet compressor. I've been running it indoors, and although it isn't exactly quiet, it makes less noise than I expected. Also, it has yet to trip a 15 amp breaker (something I was concerned about). The controls are really well placed and the dual quick connects are awesome. My finish and brad nailers hardly even make it run. I debated between oil and oil-less, and now I know I made the right decision.

I was very excited to receive my Emglo M790-HC4V air compressor today. When ordering it, I really liked the size and layout of the controls and gauges. Unfortunatly, it arrived dead on arrival. After I installed the oil in the compresor crankcase and turned it on, the motor hummed loudly as though it had a shorted winding and refused to turn the compressor. I WAS NOT HAPPY. OK, now I have to return this thing... After close examination, I was surprised to see that the compressor / motor unit is mostly a white metal casting that is secured to the chassis with self tapping screws. This low cost "cheap and dirty" method of securing the unit to the frame makes me wonder abut the quality of the internal design....

Thanks Emglo but no thanks.
