5.0 out of 5 stars English language debut of the genius behind Rammstein
I have been a Rammstein fan for many years...so to hear about a project that Richard was doing (IN ENGLISH! NOT LIKE RAMMSTEIN!), I was a little skeptical. At most it would be another Rammstein album, but in English. BOY was I surprised!! One of the most original releases of the year in any language. The plethora of styles in both music and singing really showcase what a...

3.0 out of 5 stars So so, a good listen but nothing to blow you away
A long time Rammstein fan (obviously) - I looked forward to listening to this album. And all I can really say is - it's ok. Some really good sounding instrumentation, and at times some really rocking vocals. But those moments are few and far between. I think Richard has made a distictive sound for himself, while still keeping some of his Rammstein roots still alive. It's...

5.0 out of 5 stars English language debut of the genius behind Rammstein, December 10, 2007
This review is from: Emigrate (Dig) (Audio CD)
I have been a Rammstein fan for many years...so to hear about a project that Richard was doing (IN ENGLISH! NOT LIKE RAMMSTEIN!), I was a little skeptical. At most it would be another Rammstein album, but in English. BOY was I surprised!! One of the most original releases of the year in any language. The plethora of styles in both music and singing really showcase what a talent Richard is. It took a while for the album to grow on me, at first the obvious singles jumped out at me (New York City, My World), but as I listened more the whole album is great! My favorite has to be Let Me Break (with it's Rosenrot-Sounding riff that gets your heart pumping). I can't wait for an American tour!

5.0 out of 5 stars Important new direction for rock, February 1, 2008
As a long time Rammstein fan I knew I would get this immediately on release, but after only a few listens I have to say this is wonderful.

Its intelligent, lyrically well written, masterfully written and designed music and extremely well played. I cant say it enough.

BUY THIS ALBUM INSTANTLY!

Somehow warmer and more accessible than my beloved over the top Rammstein, Emigrate brings really excellent rock and roll as well as educated and self aware lyrics. Its bold, its fresh, its as filled with hope and power as only someone with Richard's experiences could fill it.

He has definitely forged out into his own world of music in a completely un-Rammstein-like (except for the parts of R+ that are uniquely Richard) and we are lucky enough that he is bringing it here to the US...Its not like we have treated him kindly.

I am filled with hope that this bold new album will bring about a new wave of interesting well done powerful rock. Its adult but not old, thats for sure. A fresh younger sound for Richard. Its brilliant.

I am not a native German speaker, but I am so impressed with this album that I believe that it could be even better in German.

It's worth a listen if you are into rounding out your music tastes (esp if you're a Rammstein fan)

Rammstein guitarist Richard Z. Kruspe stretches his legs and really shows his talent here. Who knew he could play such great guitar solos? I took a chance buying this disc(not having heard any songs) and was blown away at how much I liked it. Not industrial like Rammstein, it still has the riffs that are like a punch to the head. I enjoyed every track. Buy the premium edition with the extra songs, its worth it. Do yourself a favor and GET THIS DISC!

Refreshingly new hard rock. This album contains songs of varied style and tone. Excellent production, instrumentals, and vocals. Awaiting further releases from Emigate.

If you are considering buying this album, its well worth it and will certainly give you myriad new additions to any party mix.

5.0 out of 5 stars EmiGREAT!!!!!, May 25, 2011

This CD is simply wonderful. I was surprised to see that the case was redesigned. There is a plastic cover over the album and on it, it has Richard's face, band logo and on the back has the song list, leaving just the background on the case itself. The CD case flips open and has a little book like with the Rosenrot album by Rammstein. Unlike the original CD case where you see Richard's face torn behind the CD, behind this CD is the song list. Every song is amazing and I can't wait for the next CD of his to come out! That is if he's planning on releasing one!

I love Rammstein so I decided to check out Richard's solo project. I must say I do enjoy the album in an overall sense. Most of the song sound great. My only qualm with it is the presence of so many slower depressing songs. Maybe its just because I am so used to the sound of R+ but this album left me a little.....eh. Still a good CD, just don't expect a group that sounds like R+

5.0 out of 5 stars Emigrate-Solo venture by Richard of Rammstein, December 13, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The tracks are full of energy even though they sound a lot like some of the Rammstein stuff but that's okay with me. All songs are in English which was suprising. I was expecting German but am happy they are not. I have many of the Rammstein CD's and think Richard is a great guitarist and has decent vocals.
