The Emile Henry 5-piece Couleurs pasta bowl set contains four 7-1/2- by 2-1/4-inch pasta bowls and one 12- by 3-1/2-inch pasta serving bowl. Marcigny, a small town nestling between the hills of Southern Burgundy, has been home to Emile Henry for the past 150 years. Faithful to its origins, the entire production is carried out here. Thanks to its clay, rich in refractory properties, Burgundy has remained a fertile area for potters, passing on their savoir-faire from generation to generation. Clay, a natural and noble material, has been used since the mists of the time to cook or preserve food. While respecting the traditional techniques, Emile Henry has introduced technological improvements (Ceradon ®) so that the dishes are more resistant to mechanical and thermal shock. These are great bowls -- they truly do go from the microwave to the table, then to the refrigerator, etc. They're very substantive and solid, and the red is a pretty color (blue-based, not orange). The big bowl is a great serving size, too -- it's really pretty big! I'd recommend them...

The large bowl arrived in pieces, but this was quickly resolved by Amazon. The second set arrived within a week, and all was well. I am very pleased with these bowls.

I have got this set as a gift and tried to order another, and all I got was a single small bowl. Apparently not available??? Love the one I have - great size for 4 or 6. Small bowls are nice generous size for pasta.
