5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Pies
Emile Henri is worth every penny for someone who really loves to cook. Pie crust is crispy even in the middle on the bottom without using a lard crust! These items are easy to clean and look BEAUTIFUL!

1.0 out of 5 stars Beware of shipping
My wife is a dedicated baker who makes awesome pies. She was in need of a new pie plate and this got very high reviews so I ordered it in plenty of time for Christmas. Unfortunately, it arrived in a box way too big with almost no packing to cushion it so as you might expect it was in many pieces! I sent it back for a refund but it's too late for this Christmas to order...

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply the BEST, May 12, 2005
Pies are perfect-Clean up is amazing!!! The cookware is absolutely beautiful. There are few things I pay good money for and even fewer things I end up not regretting.. This is one Pie dish you will never regret owning!. It's wonderful and still looks as bright and perfect as the day i took it out of the box.. I throw it in my dishwasher without pre rinsing too! And comes out looking as though I just brought it home..
I Make the best Apple Pies I ever ate..the crust is perfect every time.
It would be nice to thank the man responsible for such a nice tool as this.

I purchased one dish for Thanksgiving for myself and one for Christmas for my daughter-in-law! It is, as was described, a wonderful pie dish. The pie came out perfect and the dish was very easy to clean.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, multi-use dish!, January 12, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Other reviewers have said what a great dish this is for pie baking - and it is! But I also use it for vegetable gratins, hot dips, crustless quiche, pot pies and casseroles (it's good for reheating leftovers, too).

Favorite features:
* It's beautiful! I like all the colors; it was hard to choose! I bought the red. It's so pretty I leave it out all the time.
* The pie dish retains heat.
* The inner surface has amazing nonstick qualities. This makes food release easily, and cleanup is a breeze.
* Great in the oven, microwave and freezer - plus, you can broil in the dish. I don't broil often, but it's good to know you can. (Most baking dishes don't have this capability.)

Having complained for years about the awful quality of consumer products, I'm relieved to find one that performs beautifully and will last. I'm willing to pay for that quality. You won't find Emile Henry at discount-store prices, but it is worth every penny!

5.0 out of 5 stars For the best crust . . ., September 5, 2008

this is the best pie dish. Forget pyrex and metal. I make an all-butter crust and bake it on the bottom rack of the oven and it comes out perfect every time. I think it's the heavy mass of the ceramic that does it. I've only made 2-crust fruit pies in it thus far, but I expect it will be as good for single-crust pecan, pumpkin, etc., pies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfection, July 26, 2008
This review is from: Emile Henry 9-Inch Pie Dish, Cerise Red (Kitchen)
You will NOT be disappointed in any EMILE HENRY baking products. This beautiful bakeware is amazing and worth every penny. My cheese and veggie quiche turns out perfect every time and never sticks! My not-so-secret to a perfect crustless quiche? (shhhh, a bit of bisquick/or homemade biscuit mix and buttermilk mixed with eggs for the bottom)! Really! It's so good.:) I use the 12-inch dish because I usually bake for a crowd but the 9 inch dish is perfect for your usual holiday pies and whatnot.

These pie dishes clean-up easily with a 5 minute soak in the sink and voila...good as new! I've baked some carmelly, gooey pecan pies in them and they truly stand up to the task and have a natural non-stick quality which can't be beat.

-All I can further say is...GO FOR IT! Investing in GOOD QUALITY bakeware is so worth it and if you take good care of these ceramic wonders, you can actually pass 'em down to your grand-chillens.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exquisite, June 30, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Initially I added this to my Wish List because I thought it was beautiful. I was fortunate enough before I bought this to come across an 8 inch version of it in red at a Williams-Sonoma outlet for $10. Knowing how expensive this one was, I had to pick it up. I was immediately thrilled with the quality that I pulled out of the oven with the first pie I baked in it. After seeing just how lovely and functional Emile Henry bakeware is, I came back to Amazon and bought the larger pie dish in white.

The quality is stunning and I can't say enough about how beautiful it is. The addage is true that you get what you pay for, and in the case of Emile Henry it is a tradition of craftsmanship. Somehow the form and function of this pie dish just seems to make already good pies taste so much better.

4.0 out of 5 stars Confusion about pie dish size, September 7, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this pie dish because I previously had owned a 10-inch red Emile Henry pie dish and loved it, but it was a bit big for most recipes. This time I decided on the white pie dish and was very happy to find a 9-inch one, because it's the most used size for recipes. I was confused, however, when I received the pie dish and there was a sticker on the bottom stating it was 10 inches, which I didn't want, so I measured it. Strangely, it measured 8 inches on the bottom. To be sure, I measured it against my Pyrex pie plate that measures 9 inches. This one fit inside. I love Emile Henry and the pie dish is beautiful and they are very functional, but I just thought others should know this measures just 8 inches.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best pie dish!, November 16, 2009
I've been making my pies in my old pyrex dish. The cleanup is never easy and the crust is rarely crispy. Well, I've recently bought the Emile Henry pie dish-the results are fantastic-the crust came out crispy with pretty edges, and the cleanup was a cinch. Plus the pie dish is so handsome. Excellent investment!

4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful dish; a little tall!, May 29, 2011
I received this as a gift back in December. As others have said, this is a beautiful pie dish and the desserts I've made with this look and taste wonderful. One thing I've noticed is that the crust recipes I've used have come up a little short when using this dish. It's not a big deal, but I do have to remember to make a little extra (approximately enough for a lattice design, for example) if I want to have crust around the edge. Other than that though, no complaints!
