5.0 out of 5 stars Keeps your butter cool, fresh, and ready to spread
Emile Henry Auberge butter pots are the perfect addition to your breakfast table or afternoon tea. This glazed ceramic crock is a time-tested design, and keeps your butter fresh, cool and spreadable thanks to a reservoir of cold water that you replenish every few days (the water creates an airtight seal). It holds 8 oz. (one cup) of butter, plenty to satisfy the whole...

2.0 out of 5 stars Butter Pot/Butter Bell
Compared to the previous Butter Bell I had (That I broke) this Bell is not what I was hoping for. I usually only put 1 of the 1/4 sticks of Butter in my Bells. For my Butter usage level this allows the butter to be used without having been set out too long. With this Bell and 1/4 stick of Butter, getting to the Butter is a hassle. Also the Butter had a tendency to fall...

5.0 out of 5 stars Keeps your butter cool, fresh, and ready to spread, December 1, 2008

(one cup) of butter, plenty to satisfy the whole family at mealtimes. No more rock-hard pats of butter when your toast or rolls are ready! Plus, this new color (figue) coordinates beautifully with Fiestaware's heather dishes.

Also the Butter had a tendency to fall out, something that never happened with my previous Bell. My previous Bell had a smaller Bell/capacity & "rough" walls, possibly the smooth walls of this Bell are more susceptible to Butter sliding out.

This is EXCELLENT! It keeps the butter fresh and ready to spread whenever you need it. I am crazy about the color too and bought the rest of the dish set and it is just as great!

Emile Henry's Butter Pot is indeed a keeper!
Keeps the butter spreadable and fresh.
No more margarine!
No more chemically manufactured fake butter!
One question I have to ask.
Why oh why, didn't we buy this sooner!

5.0 out of 5 stars Cool gadget, October 31, 2011

Ok- I have to say that this was a splurge for me. That being said, it is one of the simplest yet coolest kitchen tools I never even knew about. It keeps the butter fresh and perfectly spreadable. I was able to get almost 2 full sticks of butter in the pot. I haven't had any trouble with butter falling out at all. The only thing I would have liked is if the rim of the bell was glazed like the inside of the pot so it wouldn't feel like I was scratching it when I put my knife in there to get the butter out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Emile Henry Butter Pot, October 3, 2011

The color of the product is darker than indicated in the image. The pot holds about a stick of butter and stays fresh. I replace the water every few days. Overall, I'm very pleased.
