Marcigny, a small town nestling between the hills of Southern Burgundy, has been home to Emile Henry for the past 150 years. Faithful to its origins, the entire production is carried out here. Thanks to its clay, rich in refractory properties, Burgundy has remained a fertile area for potters, passing on their savoir-faire from generation to generation. I bought these bowls because I wanted a nicer quality than the plastic bowls I've been using for several years. I also wanted bowls I could pull straight out of the dishwasher without having to dry any ridges or crevices where water remains after the dry cycle.
These bowls have a bit of weight to them and are a beautiful cherry red color with a bright white interior. I am a bit clumsy in the kitchen and, as such, have broken quite a few delicate items, but these are quite durable. I can't wait to finish buying the set! They are a bit on the expensive side but are well worth it by aesthetic and practical criteria!

These bowls are beautiful, sturdy, functional and well-worth the money. They are the perfect size for morning cereal, but not too heavy. I use them in the microwave everyday to make hot cereal. I am ready to purchase more - Emile Henry is definitely worth it.

These are fabulous, durable bowls that will last for years. You won't regret purchasing anything by Emile Henry. Worth every penny.
