Since 1850, Emile Henry cookware and bakeware have been made in Burgundy, where a unique clay is kiln-fired into a ceramic unsurpassed for conducting and retaining heat. Prized worldwide, Emile Henry products come in a wide range of colors, from the earth tones (with creamy interiors) of the rustic Le Potier line to the bright hues of the Couleurs line (with white interiors), of which these mugs are gleaming examples. Each piece is stamped with the year it was made and the initials of its craftsman and carries a one-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

Beautifully made, rich colors--worthy of my morning cup-o-joe,

I've long been an admirer of the Emile Henry settings and coffee mugs. I bought some in red last year and have been very pleased. The color is rich--which was part of my criteria, and the actual ceramic is high quality and not the porous junk that easily wears down and breaks. These are slightly heavy duty with elegance. Love them! My only gripe was that the ones I ordered had tiny variations in the glaze. Not in the overall color from cup to cup, but there were a few small dark spots and I wondered if the particular seller that I had bought them from was selling higher quality seconds, since I hadn't noticed these variations in the in-store cups I had seen. At anyrate, I like idiosyncracies, so I was fine with that, but if that would irritate, you might want to consult with the seller first.

Different glaze on red mugs,
This review is from: Emile Henry Couleurs Red Mugs, Set of 4 (Kitchen)
I ordered all three colors of these mugs - red, blue and white. The blue and white mugs have a shiny, even glaze. The red glaze is mottled and has more of a matte finish, giving it a more rustic, country look. The mugs are great but the three different colors look very different and really don't match each other.

This review is from: Emile Henry Couleurs Cobalt Mugs, Set of 4 (Kitchen)
I have a set of cobult blue Emile Henry mugs. I wanted to add to the set and ordered these. They are not all blue, they have white interiors. White interiors would be fine, however, these looked like they are seconds. The glaze is smeared along the lip of the mug with an appearance of a jagged edge. Two fo the mugs have what looks like a fine "spray" of blue glaze on the interior over the white. This light glaze is not all over, just over part of the white glaze making it appear to be very low quality work.I love my Emile Henry mugs that I bought elsewhere and wished the mugs I ordered were the same quality. This is unusual for a product ordered through Amazon. 2115|RREZRQWHO0P05;2115|R2O7S76I9TPYII;2115|RCCRGJV05U2K6;
