We are a family with little children (6, 4, 2) and use these bowls often during mealtimes, and we go through a lot of bowls in a day. We bought 16 of these (sky and nougat) only about 2-3 months ago. We didn't receive all 16 at the same time because they were on backorder. But for some reason, they scratch and leave grayish markings on the inside with regular silverspoon scooping motion. I thought these were raved as hard to scratch, crazed and super durable; and great for families with small children. I assure you we don't abuse our bowls or tough on our dinnerware. I love my pots & pans & any kitchen / dinner related pieces and take care of them because I like them looking new & unabused. However, I don't think any of the Emile Henry pieces are suppose to scratch like that. I still have my 10+ years old bowls (Epoch Collection from Macy/Bon Marche) that were given to us and they don't show a single scratch, just chips & nicks from long time use. We thought we'd upgrade to the Emile Henry since some of our 10+ years pieces have sharp chips & not safe for handling & small children. Our upgrade to Emile Henry line is a disappointment so far. I'm wondering if we were sold with inferior quality. I think I need help in rectifying this purchase, after all I bought 16 bowls and they are expensive! We thought we'd start with the more needed bowls first then purchase the dinnerware sets gradually. But the fact that the bowls scratched easily, I am very hesitant to purchase its dinnerware pieces. Amazon customer service is hard to access, so I'm a bit put off and disappointed overall.
