Ideal for serving onion soup, these two 16-ounce bowls are a traditional French shape, with lion's head handles and smooth exteriors that make them welcome in contemporary kitchens. I purchased 12 of these,used them for a chili party.They hold a good serving and dress up the table with the design,the cobalt blue is a deep true cobalt,I put them in the dishwasher,no chipping,I do put a papertowel between them when I stack them away in the pantry.I own a lot of Emile Henry,very high quality,well worth the investment,these will be passed down to my childern.

Now that I've received this product (3 sets = total 6 bowls), I would have liked to know that the porcelain glaze has a few minor pits in each bowl and the lion's head is not very well defined (as compared to the Williams Sonoma product--granted at a higher price). I am pleasantly surprised to see that the bottoms are flat and will not hold water in the dishwasher.
