4.0 out of 5 stars Be aware--they do mean Miniature!
These were MUCH smaller than I was expecting--granted, it does clearly say the size in the product description, so it's my own fault. But it's easy to forget how small a 3 inch diameter really is. These are the size of one index finger across and the tip of my index finger deep.

Other than that, they're great--the color is a true red, and the quality...

This review is from: Emile Henry Miniature Casserole Dishes, Set of 4, Cerise Red (Kitchen)
Opening the box, I couldn't help but be impressed by the quality and craftsmanship of these utterly useless dishes. The deep red color and the flawless surface highlighted the quality of these dishes that have no conceivable purpose. The finish would bring out the color in the two or three olives that might fit in the dish. The color would stand out beautifully against the maybe four cashews that would fit. And the ceramic looks to be wonderful for baking and transferring heat, which I imagine would be helpful when creating the tortilla casserole shots, which I suppose are all the rage. I'm not even sure an Orea would fit in these. The contrast between the utility and the quality of these dishes is astounding.

I have no comprehension of who would use these. The stated size is not correct. They are about 0.5" deep and about 1.5" diameter inside. They would fit well in a doll house, but short of holding maybe 3 olives, I can't imagine what I would use them for. I really don't know what a 3" casserole dish would be used for, but these are just silly.

Want a good laugh? Buy these and marvel at the ridiculously small size.

Other than that, they're great--the color is a true red, and the quality seems to be the same as my other Emile Henry items(excellent.) The stickers with the bar code were difficult to remove; they wanted to stay stuck to the bottom of the dishes. I haven't used the dishes in the oven yet because of the size. I live alone so I'm not cooking appetizer-type things often and even if I am, the portion using one dish is far too small to justify turning the oven on to cook it.
