Product Description

Amazon.com Review

This large 11-by-14-inch roasting dish is perfect for roasting vegetables, baking a savory gratin, or heating a lasagne, and is attractive enough to go from oven to table for serving. The dish is made from local clay in Burgundy, France, using a pottery tradition that has been alive since 1850. The clay is an excellent material for retaining heat, so meals stay warm as you gather your guests to the table. The dish has a cream-colored interior and a painted exterior that is covered with a translucent glaze, creating a rustic-looking finish. The glaze is lead-free and won’t crack, discolor, or scratch. This dish goes in the freezer, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and under the broiler, and is very easy to clean. All of the pottery in Emile Henry’s Le Potier line is covered by a one-year warranty against defects. --Cristina Vaamonde

From the Manufacturer

Good cooking has always used earthenware dishes, which spread the heat evenly. Use the rectangular dish for your cannelloni, chicory with ham, brochettes or a Tian (Provençal vegetable tart). Earthenware dishes keep food warm for longer, perfect for those who want seconds!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it! Easy to Clean...good customer service, May 13, 2003
I have a few pieces of Emile Henry and look forward to getting more. They clean up so much easier than Pyrex ever has for me. They look brand new all the time! And the colors are fabulous. I had a piece break in half while roasting veggies. I called Emile Henry and they had me ship it to them at not charge to me. They inspected it and replaced it for me at no charge at all! Because of the customer service I will continue to purchase Emile Henry!

5.0 out of 5 stars "Best Ever!" Bakeware, July 13, 2004

All the raves you read about this wonderful bakeware are absolutely true. At first, I thought I was imagining how great it was; the way the items baked, the ease of cleaning ... food truly does not stick no matter how baked on ... and it always, always looks brand new. I happen to be partial to the deep green myself, but I am sure all the colors are just as bright.

Thank you Emile Henry for a great product.

This was the perfect good-looking replacement for boring Pyrex and I used it often - until one day it suddenly cracked right down the middle while I was roasting a small turkey breast in the oven. Makes me completely wary of purchasing another as they're quite expensive. I have a similiar roasting dish from Cost Plus that's made in Portugal and is still going strong. Wish I could find more of those instead. (much cheaper)
