Emilee Hines was born on a tobacco farm in Virginia, graduated from Lynchburg College and has a master's degree from UNC-Chapel Hill. She has lived in Texas, Michigan and Kenya, where she taught at Machakos Teachers College. She enjoys traveling and has traveled extensively throughout the world. She has placed in the top three in writing contests for the following associations: Southwest Writers, Romance Writers of Virginia, Maryland Writers and Southeastern Writers. She was co-author of 7 volumes of Old Virginia Houses, is the author of It Happened in Virginia, now in its second edition; More Than Petticoats-Remarkable Virginia Women; East African Odyssey, Burnt Station and soon to be published Mapping the Old Dominion and Virginia Mysteries & Legends, as well as over 300 articles and short stories.
