My nephew and I really enjoyed this book. The rhyming and pace of it reminded me a bit of Dr. Seuss. It is a sweet book without pretention or ulterior motive. Just a great kids book with no worries!
The illustrations were very cute and undoubtedly will appeal to the youngsters. The baby chickadees got a lot of hoots from my nephew! I was also impressed with the sturdy construction of the book, including a very firm cover and thick, tear-resitant pages. The book will last through several hand-me-downs! I appreciate the sentiment of observing and caring for animals without interfering with them. It's an important lesson for children, and one which is not always tought in school. Although the book does not lecture, it does show that a child can enjoy nature just through observation. A good lesson that is quietly embodied in a delightful story.

A delightful story for any child that enjoys wildlife. A good tool for teaching an appreciation of Mother Nature. Beautiful illustrations as well. Grandmother approved!

My grandaughter loved the sweet story of Emily Waits for Her Family. She loved the colorful pictures and I think every little girl and boy will enjoy reading this adorable story. I think the fact that it is a true story makes it that much more special. Thank you and I hope for further story lines about Emily the Chickadee.
