5.0 out of 5 stars Great book for a little girl.
We bought this book for our 3-year-old flower girl. It starts out talking about Emily being asked by her aunt to be a flower girl. It talks about Emily picking out her dress and special shoes and discusses the flower girl's responsibilities in the wedding. It's great because it also introduces a little boy as the ring-bearer. In the book we gave our flower girl, we...

3.0 out of 5 stars So-so book
Most of the books my child (almost 5 and a girl) has are ones we both love to read, but she likes this one better than I do! Even so, it is not her favorite one, I think she likes the idea of a bunny getting married but it is kind of long and dull for smaller kids in my opinion. And if you are thinking it will help your small child understand how to be a flower girl, it...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book for a little girl., May 8, 2005
This review is from: Emily Is a Flower Girl (Reading Railroad Books) (Paperback)
In the book we gave our flower girl, we put stickers over all of the names in the book and changed the names to match the people in our wedding. So now our flower girl has read about the ring-bearer, Nathan, several times and is looking forward to meeting him. The book is very child friendly.

4.0 out of 5 stars There are better books., July 22, 2007

I gave this book to my flower girl. Her mother thought it was a good idea because it she had a lot of questions. The flower girl did not say another word about it though -- she liked the memory book I got her much better: When I Was a Flower Girl. I was glad I got the book because it was cute but there is probably something better out there.

3.0 out of 5 stars So-so book, March 20, 2011

Most of the books my child (almost 5 and a girl) has are ones we both love to read, but she likes this one better than I do! Even so, it is not her favorite one, I think she likes the idea of a bunny getting married but it is kind of long and dull for smaller kids in my opinion. And if you are thinking it will help your small child understand how to be a flower girl, it might do an OK job but not as good as it might have if the writing were tighter and focused more on Emily's job as flower girl than the story as a whole. Not bad at all, but if your book funds are tight then look for this at the library or at the very least make it your "free" book using Amazon's promotion (4 for 3).

5.0 out of 5 stars Bridal Gift, March 3, 2011

This book is adorable and was so fitting for our wedding. Gave it to my niece to start reading at night so that she understands what the wedding will be like. She enjoys the rabbits dressed up. The book has helped make her realize the important role she plays! Inside I also wrote a note so that it's a keepsake she can keep for years to come!

Cute book, but really simple. It doesn't even rhyme! The paper is also very cheap. I bought it for the bunny...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not what I was hoping for, April 13, 2010

I was hoping for a story about what being a flower girl was all about and what it meant. But instead this was more about them not being ready when the big moment arrived. This story more confused my 3 year old then helped her to understand about being a flowergirl. Its a cute story if all you want is a story but if you are trying to get a flowergirl ready for the big day I dont recommend this one.

Great book for a first time flower girl. Book does an awesome job at describing what will happen on the wedding day. And the bunnies make it even more cute!! My flower girls name also happens to be Emily so it was a perfect book for her!

I bought this book for the young little girl who will be the flower girl in my wedding. The book was okay. It is definitely not the book you want for a young little girl. It is too long and faily wordy. I probably won't even give this to the little girl. I will continue looking for something better. Cute book for older flower girl.
