Weyland does not disappoint, July 15, 2000
This review is from: Emily (Hardcover)
Okay, maybe this wasn't as good as "Charlie," but "Emily" is still a delightful book. The story is of that of Emily and Austin. Austin is the best friend of Emily's brother, and her lifelong crush. Austin leaves on his mission, burdened by his parents' high expectations. Emily goes off to college to become a tv anchorwoman, but suffers a tragic accident. Both characters are delightful and realistic, people you could get to know. The book is, at times, serious and spiritual, but as always, the author makes us all laugh with the humor he throws in. "Emily" is a wonderful lesson about what a servant in Christ really is. So read it!

Emily is an inspiring story because it shows how one can overcome the challenges in their life. Bad things do happen to good people. The story shows how we can triumph over the challenges that life throws in our way. Even while in the midst of her own challenges, Emily is still willing to help others.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Emily (Hardcover)
If i were to recomend this book I would have given it a five star. The reason why I choose this book is because my cousin said that it was a good book to read and tells you how this girl gets through her troubles. It has also wanted me to go on a mission and learn all of these wonderful things. What I think the aurthor intended the audience is to learn how to be more curtiouse to others and you now have and idea about how handicap people survive and you have an idea about what they are thinking of. One thing I have learned from this book is dont stare at people who are diffrent from us. I think I would recommend this book to a friend. Oh and the book also tells how a girl likes this kid but she thinks he is only talking to her because her brother told him to be nice to her. Does he even like her? Find out and check out this book at you local library.

ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, July 25, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Emily (Hardcover)
Emily is truly a great book to read. If you have had strugles in your life that have been hard to go through, or you didnt understand everything that has been placed in front of you (certian obsticals) than you will love this book. Jack Weyland clearly proved, yet again, that he is a great writer. With Emily on your book shelf you will be satisfied and entertained with a great book. The book starts out with Emily just leaving high school. You learn that she is practically in love with her older brothers best friend Austin, who is two years older than her, and thinks of her as a little sister. He leaves on his mission going through things and exsperiances that change his life, and teaches him life long lessons. While he is away, Emily goes to college, and meets new people. She becomes an new confedent person who is ready to get out there and tackle the world. But when a tragedy strikes her life, she learnes that it will never be the same again. As she goes through some of her trials, Austin comes back from his mission, and when they get together to pick off where they left ("friends") they learn things about themselves and each other that could change them for life- and -eternity. This book will touch your heart and make you think. Throughout the whole book you will laugh, cry, and wish that Emilys life will turn out like "happy ever after." You will love this book from the first page to the last.

A Great Jack Weyland Book, January 12, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Emily (Hardcover)
This is a great book. Every time I read another Jack Weyland, I love his writing even more. The inside cover reads,"Nineteen-year-old Emily Latrell has always been infatuated with her brother's best friend, Austin Brunswick. But Austin is two years older than Emily and just home from his mission. He's always had other girlfriends, and though Emily has grown up dramatically during his absence, she can't imagine the handsome returned missionary having any romantic interest in her. Especially not after her tragic experience. Clearly, the attention that he pays he is the result of a promise he made to her brother, Jeremy, and she decides to give Austin the brush-off. But it's not that easy to change your heart. Jack Weyland's latest book about young love and overcoming adversity is filled with spiritual insight, fun, and romance. You'll fall in love with Emily and wonder what it's going to take for Austin to see the light. Theirs is a story you won't soon forget." I simply adored this book!!! I really cried through the whole book. This is a great book.
