Emily Owens MD is a brilliant, funny, intelligent show that helped me get over the fact that House had run its course. Now I hear Emily will be cancelled in favor of inane silly shows such as Arrow and Beauty and the Beast. Come on CW! Wake up and give Emily a fair shot!

I really didn't think I would like this show. I bought into all the critics, plus I had been thoroughly put off medical shows because of Grey's Anatomy over acting, lame writing and ridiculous storytelling. So when all the critics said that this show was a lightweight Grey's wannabe, it didn't interest me. Add that to the fact that I'm already overloaded with shows on Tuesday nights 8:00PM CST that I simply can't record or watch anymore, chances of me checking it out were slim to none. So why is it now the show I watch while recording and then buy episodes from Amazon to watch each episode a dozen times before the next episode?

I still don't know how I managed to see the pilot, but I was hooked from the start. Emily Owen is charming, sweet, smart, compassionate, at times cringe-worthy (as most of us are from time to time) and is an amazing doctor. I so enjoy her medical skills and the confidence she displays when performing those skills. I feel for her when she hurts and I smile when she is happy. With the exception of one character, I love the supporting characters. Especially Micah. I love any scene where Emily and Micah share the screen. Dr. Bandari was the stereotypical coldfish attending that wasn't an Emily fan. But in recent episodes her character has been fleshed out a bit and you see her more humanized and I have enjoyed seeing that side of her character. The character of Will, Emily's medical school crush and good friend, is one that I go back and forth on as to whether I want to hug him or slap him upside the head. But you can't help but like him, even when he is at his most frustrating.

Emily Owens MD. was the one interesting new show the CW had this fall and they wound up canceling it 13 episodes in. They completely failed at promoting the show because it didn't bring in the type of audience they were looking for, but honestly if the CW is ever going to last they need to start making shows that reach audiences of all ages and this was one of those shows. My 12-year-old sister loved this show, I'm 27 and I loved this show and if that's not enough my 65-year-old grandmother really enjoyed it as well. It was witty and sweet and just entertaining, plus there was so much potential for the characters and their lives. I'm so disappointed that the CW didn't give this show a chance and instead focused on played out shows like Arrow, Beauty and the Beast and The Carrie Diaries.

Excellent, refreshing series and actors needs to be renewed and given a chance to mature. Maybe a different time slot.

I really like this show. Emily is real (and awkward). The story flows smoothly and is altogether interesting. Love it, wish I could watch all of this season now! (Instead of waiting for every Tuesday on the CW)

The first episode is hard to get into, but as the characters progress, this show is totally engaging. It had a different flavor to other primetime dramas, and it wasn't entirely about sex or epic, groundbreaking storylines like other dramas out there. It was intelligent, well-written, and had a strong cast.

This was one of the few good shows to watch last year. It was a poor choice on CW's part to cancel it after 3 episodes. It's still hard for me to believe that it's gone. I keep hoping that another network will pick it up like how Scrubs was picked up by ABC, because episode 13 doesn't feel like a real ending. And this show deserves a better resolution.
