Conceived while creating music for a kid's birthday party, the tunes are fun and engaging for children of all ages. "I Like Silver, I Like Gold" blends children's love of colors with rhymes and an infectious rhythm. Children and parents alike will relate to "I Need a Hand," a song that has some serious fun with what it means to cross the street and to just get through the day.
Mixed with the originals are classics such as "Skip to My Lou", done as you've never heard them before: kids will be unable to resist singing along. A couple of good old-fashioned fiddle tunes round it all out; if they don't get you dancing, nothing will!

Give Raffi a Rest,
By David Wright (Arlington, MA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Emily Songs (Audio CD)
My daughter liked Raffi and the other classics when we put them on, but she never asked for them. This is one she asks for--a lot. It's lively and fun, and treats kids like sophisticated listeners who can enjoy layers of sounds and catchy rhythms, just like adults--which is why I think it appeals to all ages. This is a CD that stays on the carousel at our house.

Rudnick's songs are geared towards children, but that doesn't tell the whole story. It is simply impossible to be in a bad mood listening to this music, and I'm pretty much fully grown up. The instrumental renditions of traditional songs are particularly catchy, and "The Window", "I Need a Hand", and "Cowgirl Song" had me singing along and making up my own verses. Highly recommended.

Finally, an album that parents can admit to liking and not worry that their friends will laugh. 12 toe tapping tunes that kids love and parents can enjoy as well. Bought for a car trip for our 2,4,and 6 year old. All of them love it. It is now part of the permanent collection we keep in our car. Also great for kiddie dance sessions that we have to break the bordum of a rainy day. Highly recommend. Better than Raffi in my opinion.
