A cute hommage to Emily Watson,
By
This review is from: Emily Watson [Extended Play] (Audio CD)
While viewing on Youtube a few interviews on Emily Watson, I fell on a morning show where, when introducing the actress, they used a tune by a Los Angeles Band called "Human Hands". In that tune, the band sang about Emily Watson and her movie roles on "Breaking the Waves", "Hilary and Jackie", and "Metroland". And as Emily Watson heard this song, she said, during the interview, that she had heard about this song and you could see, by watching her, that it really pleased her to have received such an homage from a music group.
In the end, this interview interested me enough to purchase a copy of that Extend Play cd version on Amazon. Which also has four other songs by the group. Since then, I have had lots of pleasure listening to that group's music on my computer. As for the "Emily Watson" song, I just think it is one of the most up-beat, but most lovely homage given to an actress and her work. I wish Emily Watson has a copy of that album or of that song on her Ipod. As for the other songs, I just think they are an excellent music to listen to when you want to read or even read your notes. Just as a little note, I noticed that their version of "Shimmer" on that cd is different than the one presented on their website. It has a different rhythm and final lyrics than their version on the web, but I still think their version of "Shimmer" on CD is better than the one on their website. In the end, I hope people will take a break from the usual singers you hear on Radio and will take the time to listen to that LA band's music, which has lots of interesting songs to listen to on their albums.
